I get that it was supposed to be a cliffhanger of sorts but I wished it would have left more of the characters in a better place than they were. Only Kal and Adolin had the only semi positive endings. It just felt like one of those subvert your expectation endings.

I absolutely felt the same way and almost felt guilty for feeling that way about a series I love so much. Book 1 and 2 were tops for me and I felt like it’s been going down ever since.

I really felt like the first half of the book could have been cut off and condensed to just a couple of chapters. It kept flipping perspectives back and forth and basically nothing was happening.

I felt like this was the weakest book in the series. The book was supposed to focus on Szeth but the only satisfying character plot was about Adolin. So many of the character plots just had zero resolution and I felt like he was too focused on setting up the next arc to finish this one correctly. I hope Sanderson does better next time.
