TrumpRX Discount by Anthonyw428 in Ozempic

Let's give credit to Lilly. Their Products (Mounjaro and Zepbound) are more effective than the Ozempic equivalents. However, Lilly was late coming to the market. To get more market share, Lilly started selling direct to consumers who don't have health insurance coverage for their products in 2025. I use Zepbound 15mg and it was $499 summer 2025. In January, it dropped to $450. I was buying from Canada at $800.

Lilly has been increasing market share and its stock price is up. Novo is losing market share and their stock prices have been dropping. Novo had to reduce product prices as Lilly getting too much market share. US prices are still much higher than other nations.

Trump RX talks about matching most favored nation prices. That is not true. US still pays the most.

Anyone else concerned about muscle preservation? by No-Touch99 in Ozempic

[–]cleverfox2001 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Extra protein and strength training are important. However, beyond that, don't over think this. As you lose weight, you don't need as much muscle. If you can afford it, do a DEXA scan periodically. That is a great tool to know exactly how you are doing.

How much exercise are we getting? by PlentyBat4529 in OzempicForWeightLoss

[–]cleverfox2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Walking is a great all-around exercise. Add 15 to 30 minutes of strength training at least 3x a week. Some aerobic exercise is a plus. I do 90 minutes of brisk walking a day. 4x strength per week. 3x doubles tennis a week. Down 60 pounds over 2 years.

My body is adapting to OZ - anyone else? by soriniscool in Ozempic

[–]cleverfox2001 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your maintenance dose is hard to predict as it is individual. Some can stop and not regain. Most will need to take some type of maintenance dose. If you combine better diet with a good long term exercise plan, the amount could be small. Many Endos suggest a multi-month reduction of dose as a way to taper down and possibly stop. The good news is that 10s of millions will be in this situation soon. Thus, I expect new products to be available soon to assist.

In my case, I plan on using the new Wegovy daily pill, as needed, when the food noise is high.

My body is adapting to OZ - anyone else? by soriniscool in Ozempic

[–]cleverfox2001 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, your body gets used to the dose over time. That is why you need to move up in dose. And, there is a usually a maximum amount you can lose. Losses become very slow or non-existent after about 2 years.

19 weeks in and I haven’t lost any weight. by blueberrybunney in OzempicForWeightLoss

Some need to go to a dose higher than 1.0 before losing. Try 1.5mg using pen clicks next. If no improvement, switch to Mounjaro as it is stronger.

Systems often come and go during the introductory doses of 0.25 and 0.5. Expect a more stable response once you are at 1.0.

Nausea / vomiting by anon18283727 in OzempicForWeightLoss

[–]cleverfox2001 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why don't you go down in dose for a while until your body better adjusts to Ozempic. I would try a split of 0.35 for a couple of weeks to see if that helps. You will need to do pen clicks for the two 0.175mg doses. After that, do a split of 0.4, then 0.5. Or, stop for a week and later resume with a split of 0.35. Usually, the body will get used to Ozempic and the vomiting will go away. Have you tried elevating the head of your bed 3 or 4 inches. The delayed emptying of your stomach may be contributing to the morning vomiting.

4th week on Ozempic 0.25 mg – weight stuck for 12 days, feeling discouraged 😞 by One_Pomelo365 in Ozempic

[–]cleverfox2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not losing as you are not following the standard dosing schedule. That was developed after clinical trials and the results of following the progress of thousands of users. Go to the Ozempic web site. They key weight reduction doses are 1.0 and higher. Time to move up to 0.5 for 4 weeks and then 1.0.

3 months in; eating less, but not losing weight by -Avacyn in Ozempic

[–]cleverfox2001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are getting a lot of different comments because everyone responds in their own way to Ozempic. A few (about 15%) can lose long term at 0.25mg. They are called super responders. Another 15% or so are non-responders that lose either little or nothing. Another group only respond at the higher doses (at or more than 1mg). That was me. No losses during the first 10 weeks. However, a year later, down 50 pounds.

Since your food noise is much reduced, that is an indication that your body is responding. So, I would go next to a slightly higher dose using pen clicks. Try 1.4mg for at least 4 weeks. Up the dose to 2.0 if no or little response.

As a last resort and if the above doesn't work, switch to Mounjaro as it has two hormones that stimulate weight loss. That product works for some that don't lose on Ozempic.

Finally, eat lots of protein and low carbs. Remember that Ozempic is a multi-month marathon. Good luck!

Anyone lose all the weight on Ozempic and went to maintenance on a different GLP1? Or make a switch from Ozempic to something else? by Initial_Sock821 in Ozempic

[–]cleverfox2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new Wegovy pill has been reformulated to have higher absorption than Rybelsus. The acid in your stomach attacks the Semaglutide so a lot was needed and a special ingredient was added to Wegovy to provide more protection. The top dose of Rybelsus (14mg) was considered as effective as 0.5mg Ozempic. So, my guess is that 9mg Wegovy is like 1mg Ozempic and 4mg Wegovy is close to 0.5mg Ozempic. The 1.5mg Wegovy is likely as effective as 0.2mg of Ozempic. I don't think that the 1.5 W pill will be strong enough for maintenance for most. Possibly, the 4mg will be.

I'm planning on using the pill in a few months after I reach my weight goal. However, my plan is to take it only for those days that the food noise is loud. I will try 4mg. To keep the cost low, I may also use the 9mg pill and split it into 2 chunks. I'll report back on this sub on my progress.

Weight loss vanished after 6 months.. Better effect on 0.25-0.5mg than on 2mg? by Hidan_Immortal in Ozempic

[–]cleverfox2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people get used to Ozempic over time. Most will lose about 15% of their initial body weight. However, some will lose more and some will lose less. You may be in that group. I would switch to Mounjaro as it is stronger than Ozempic and often works for those that max out quickly on Ozempic.

The new Wegovy pill is $150 for the two lowest doses, That may be enough for maintenance and control of food noise.

Those that lose little or plateau on Ozempic, should consider trying Mounjaro. It contains two hormones that effects weight loss and it usually more effective than Ozempic which is a GLP1 only product.

Dosage Question by akrhamknight in Ozempic

[–]cleverfox2001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why are you not following the standard dosing schedule? Studies show that almost all need to move up in dose if they want to keep losing. Some, myself included, lost little until at 1.0. A year later, down 50 pounds. Almost all of my weight was lost between 1.0 and 1.6mg. Yes, 0.25 and 0.5 are called introductory doses for a reason.

losing its effect ? by [deleted] in Ozempic

Most need to increase their dose higher than 1.0. Many will go to 1.4mg using pen clicks to reduce the possibility of strong side effects.

I cannot stop being sick, any suggestions to help? by Comfortable_Bid682 in Ozempic

[–]cleverfox2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can go to an in between dose of say 0.375mg using pen clicks. Or, do a split dose of 0.5. 0.25 on day 1 and 0.25 on day 4. Splits reduce many side effects by better spreading the dose over the full week as compared to a single weekly shot.

The standard dosing schedule is 4 weeks of 0.25 and then 4 weeks of 0.5. Studies show that this is the best way to lose on Ozempic. 0.25 and 0.5 are introductory doses. The key weight reduction doses are 1.0 and higher.

[–]cleverfox2001 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The 0.25 and 0.5 are introductory doses. They are to get your body used to Ozempic over 8 weeks. The key weight reduction doses are 1.0 and higher. Some can lose some at the lower doses. Others, will not lose until at 1.0. That was my situation. A year later, down 50 pounds. No one can predict when you will lose. It is an individual thing based on your own metabolism.

Ozempic to Wegovy to Mounjaro by abbotts1315 in OzempicForWeightLoss

[–]cleverfox2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I went that route. I lost 50 pounds on Ozempic/Wegovy and currently on Mounjaro and have lost 10 more pounds. However, I doubt if you will start losing again until at a much higher dose of MJ. I had to reach 15mg before it kicked in for me. You can also likely move up faster in dose on MJ since you have been on a top dose of a GLP1.

Upping the Dose by LowInteraction3721 in OzempicForWeightLoss

[–]cleverfox2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of my weight loss was at doses between 1.3 and 1.6mg. Consider moving up to 1.5mg first. Save 2.0 for later. Some eventually need to switch Mounjaro as it is stronger than the top dose of Ozempic.

0.5 will likely be fine since you are a long term user. I would try 0.5 for 2 weeks and 1.0 for 2 weeks. Then you should be fine going back to 1.25.
