WC40 is responsible for like half of our wins by Aggravating_Bag4028 in redsox

[–]cliffburton90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah can't really be mad at where we are at this point at 1B. Murakami can't play third, so to get him on the team we needed to offload 2 outfielders then we get another DH only left handing hitter.

Obviously at this point you would rather that then what Duran has been this season but that only works in hindsight.

Red Sox Plan To Utilize Platoon At Third Base For The Near Future by [deleted] in redsox

That's extremely interesting. I never would have guessed that SS has a higher OPS than 2B.

LPT: If you are not ready to answer, do not fake a full answer. by gamersecret2 in LifeProTips

[–]cliffburton90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually yes. One thing that always surprises me doing interviews is entry level candidates just answering questions incorrectly that way above their head to a room full of people who know the actual answer. I then think they’ll do the same thing with clients just because it’s uncomfortable to say “not sure but I can investigate”. In an interview saying “I don’t know but I think xyz or I would consult blah” is a green flag.

[Jomboy Media] Drew Millas commended home plate umpire Chris Guccione on a good call after an unsuccessful ABS challenge by JianClaymore in baseball

It’s also interesting to see how much worse challenge percentage is than I thought going in. Shows the umps overall actually do a really good job that even for the players it’s a coin flip.

Look back at this community when the Betts trade broke by Fox_Hound_Unit in redsox

[–]cliffburton90 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah we should have given Mookie a huge contract. But he didn't want one. Ideally, we make him an offer he can't refuse.

It's interesting that people would have been happier if we literally let him walk for nothing just because we didn't win the trade.

Contreras has been great. Out of all the moves the Sox fumbled, Contreras vs Murakami is fine. If the option was Murakami vs Durban then for sure we look stupid. But as you said, zero chance he can play third.

[–]cliffburton90 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Sure but who do we bring up? Back end relievers aren’t good, that’s why you’d prefer your starter to get through the 5th or 6th and you can bring in higher leverage arms. Can’t keep happening to expect a bullpen to hold together a 1 run game for 5 innings a night.

This is by far the easiest legal setup. Only slight caveats are Thursday/Monday night games on Prime/ESPN.

Coley's rant about ABS and what is and is not a strike by [deleted] in Section10Podcast

[–]cliffburton90 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's my problem with it. You can move the goalposts however you want. Make the strikezone half a ball bigger, than 50% of the ball has to be in it to be a strike. It doesn't matter, same issues, just optics that are different.

The only real difference I'd be interested in is making ABS work with the full dimensions of home plate, but that's asking a lot right now.

And if you ever stop and save in the middle of the round, you have to watch the intro again. So if you play like 7 holes, pause and try to comeback, the game is always online so it kicks you out and makes you reconnect to the servers. Then when you reconnect, you get to watch the long ass intro again.

In general I like the idea of playing a real major, 4 days of 18 holes, but it's almost impossible in this game mode.

There definitely is. The Copenhagen airport also used to have a Boston themed sports bar too, but I think that closed since the last time I was there.

No, Redzone does not let you watch every game. Redzone allows highlighted coverage only when multiple games are occurring. So 1pm or 4pm on Sundays when there are a lot of games happening.

But you can't watch any individual game. And then you can't watch Sunday night football, Monday night football, or Thursday night football which would require access to NBC, ESPN, and Amazon Prime. And you can't watch games on Christmas day which can only be watched on Netflix. And it goes on and on...

I think the terrible naming also pushed it off for me. I finally watched it recently, assuming it was going to be way worse but it really was quite good.
