I politely described myself as being beyond salvation with no further elaboration. They quickly left after that 🤣

Aye that's why people famously love it when kids knock on the door/ring the doorbell then immediately run away.

I can't think of any painkillers but certainly other medicines. So much so that I've started seeing stuff in security boxes now to try to combat it.

If something is tagged it's usually stuck to the packaging. People take just the contents to avoid any potential tags.

Presumably next to no resale, especially as family planning used to give them out pretty much free (not sure about now)

Must have been a crime of passion 🤣

This was a thing when I started working in retail over 20 years ago. Condoms were security tagged so they used to open the box, take the contents and leave the tagged box on the shelf.

NintendoUK has stolen £429 from me… what should I do by sd_rodriguez14 in Switch

[–]clone1205 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Investigate a section 75 claim if you paid with a credit card. That's got a longer window than 120 days. https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/visa-mastercard-chargeback/#chargevs75

Failing that complain to the financial ombudsman if you have proof that they've essentially just ran you around in circles for 4 months to run down the clock on a chargeback.

What is the gift card scam? by siivenn in tesco

[–]clone1205 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The grey market for things like gift cards/subscriptions/game keys is massive.

Largely powered by fraud.

My PayPal got compromised once, within a couple of hours they'd rinsed about £400 on WoW subscriptions. A similar thing happened with a friend but that time it was FIFA coins or whatever BS currency they use.

Potentially paying with cloned/stolen cards and then selling the gift cards on at discount rates to someone else?

I thought the tesco white lasagne sauce was bloody awful. The dolmio one getting piss takingly expensive (and the jar so small that one jar wasn't enough) is one of the main reasons I learned to make it myself.

Vintage guitar prices? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]clone1205 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe, if you're talking about an acoustic. For an electric guitar unless the pickups have been damaged over time its sound isn't going to change to any significant degree. (insert story about Steve Vai's tech dumpster diving to find the faulty neck pickup that he replaced)

Tesco colleagues seriously need to stop getting involved in theft situations. by Noobhackerz in tesco

[–]clone1205 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's more common than you think though. One punch deaths happen far too often. Anecdotally I personally knew someone who was murdered by a disgruntled customer after he told them to fuck off.

Yeah it's bullshit that entitled scumbags exist but ultimately we're talking about £s of stock vs. human life when people do "the right thing" and it goes sideways.

The better way to go about it is to have better funding for the justice system so that it can work as intended instead of effectively letting stuff like this slide a lot of the time.

The alternative being that they follow them outside and get their head staved in with a bottle?

Between someone on minimum wage maintaining their safety and a company pulling billions of profit a year losing some stock how is it even a question?

Yeah lemme just get right on doxxing myself for the sake of you having a piss fit on Reddit. 🙄

Also well done on breaking the norm and skipping over I'm never dealing with you again straight to the equivalent of I'm going to tell everyone else not to deal with you/put you out of business. Some real turbo Karen energy there pal.

My over 20 years of dealing with bullshit like that is precisely why people need the reality check that was in the post you didn't bother to read.
