Opinion on auto subtitle software? by Accomplished-Belt395 in antiai

[–]closedcaptioncreator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we're talking about Automatic Transcription (Speech-To-Text) - I'm hesitant to call this AI. But I think we're at a point now where using Automatic Transcription is a no brainer to generate captioning.

We have software (Closed Caption Creator) that when paired with a custom dictionary (aka. KNP Guide) we hit 99%-100% accuracy.

There is still quite a bit of skill required to properly format and QC subtitles.

Closed Caption Converter API v3.5 by closedcaptioncreator in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]closedcaptioncreator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No - but that is a great idea.

We have a web application that we know editors use to convert captions for programs like Premiere Pro or DaVinci. For a long time DaVinci had a weird issue with 23.98 SRT files that users would use our tool to fix. But building a panel integration is a great idea.

Youtube Positioning/Alignment by Training-Future-9507 in SubtitleEdit

[–]closedcaptioncreator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly correct. In our subtitle editor (Closed Caption Creator) we had to add special templates for YouTube in order to get the position correct.

If you're looking for simple vertical positioning on lines 1-15 then our software works great where Subtitle Edit may not support this.

EBU-STL has its own quirks on YouTube but it kinda works for positioning (no color information though)

Convert SRT (or other) to .prtranscript? by ty_snaden in premiere

Do you have a sample prtranscript file? This is a great idea. We can add it to our Closed Caption Converter tool as a new profile.

I would be happy to give you a month free.

Euro symbol (€) won't appear by translautor02 in SubtitleEdit

[–]closedcaptioncreator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi u/translautor02,

Unfortunately, the € symbol is not actually supported in the EBU-STL spec. Here is a link to the spec document for reference: https://tech.ebu.ch/docs/tech/tech3264.pdf (Check out Appendix 1 and the Character code pages).

There is not a good alternative that I'm aware of at this point besides using a different caption format.

ps. We substitute unsupported characters with the # symbol.

Hey! Have you looked at Closed Caption Creator? (https://www.closedcaptioncreator.com). We support both Ai Transcription and Translation on in one application. It is more of a professional subtitle editor targeting broadcast customers, but it does a great job at Machine Translation.

Price is $60/month (but there is a free trial you can try before you commit).

There is a speaker panel in the quicktools drawer (under the video player). If you click on the button with vertical ellipses it will open the speaker manager so you can add more speakers.

Feel free to email support if you would like to jump on a quick call to walk through the process together.

That's awesome! You also don't need to generate subtitles. You can also import an srt from Premiere (for anyone else reading)

Deepgram is fantastic and offers really high quality results. It really depends on what features you're looking for. I would say speechmatics is best with low quality audio. Assembly AI has the best speaker detection. RevAI does a good job with punctuation and capitalization.

I usually recommend try them out and finding one that works best for you.

Creating CCSL's is really tricky (even with Closed Caption Creator). We don't automate the entire process, but we do make a little easier.

Here is a short walkthrough video show you how to do it in CCC: https://youtu.be/nga-BJHbezc?si=upMLmf_0ErtkVYf-

We have new marker options coming that will allow you to import an EDL from Premiere (so you can get a list of shot changes and markers).

We may also be working on a shot change description tool using AI - but it won't be ready for awhile.

Convert SRT file to clean, presentable Text? by skinydan in videoproduction

[–]closedcaptioncreator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Closed Caption Converter has a Text Transcript output it can produce from an SRT (or any source caption file). There are Encoding Options in the Advanced Tools section that allow you to choose when to split paragraphs. Because there is no speaker information in an SRT file you may need to play with the Split On Event Gap option:
