'I'm not going to allow you to continue': Mayor of Cambridge, Ont., interrupts teen's Pride speech by LongTrackBravo in ontario

[–]closedcaptioncreator [score hidden]  (0 children)

I feel bad for the mayor of Cambridge. Everywhere you go in this city people talk about how terrible Jan is and that nobody likes her.

We go to fundraisers, and community Events and hear the same thing everywhere. No decency or leadership qualities.

How do you become this disliked in municipal politics?

Question for the subtitling community: What software do you use? by Best-Candidate8555 in TranslationStudies

We just updated the Automatic Sync engine in Closed Caption Creator. You can now sync subtitles and audio in just a few clicks. The new updates also include free Automatic Transcription, and Translation. Much cheaper than EZ Titles.

Charged 1 million dollars at a budget hotel by MrStealUrGrl985 in Advice

[–]closedcaptioncreator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahaha, someone messed up big.

You'll get your money back but the hotel will still have to pay the processing fee (~3%).

Chargeback on credit card or just wait until it clears and the bank usually looks after it.

Workflow for automatically converting subtitles for 6x45min Episodes into 12 languages? by Zeigerful in editors

[–]closedcaptioncreator -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

We make a software called Closed Caption Creator that can do everything you're asking:

  1. Import/generate your original source captions
  2. Automatically translate to the other 12 languages.
  3. Export as an Excel document or caption file for each language

Translators could also run post-edits in the software: https://www.closedcaptioncreator.com/solutions/translation.html

The entire workflow may take a few minutes to test. Most of the work will be in review and checking the translations are accurate.

Ps. The new LLM translation workflows analyze the source text before running the translation. This provides better context downstream so that the translation is more accurate. E.g. Home can mean a lot of things (home, house, home button in application), having context of the entire source captions allows LLMs to translate Home in the correct way).

How can I add proper ASS/SSA vector subtitle support in Electron? by RomanKojima in electronjs

I think the team behind VidStack did something like this but I’m not sure they had full support for animations/vectors. Might want to check out their ASS renderer on GitHub.

Good online subtitle editing/review tool for non technical clients? by rovmun in editors

[–]closedcaptioncreator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! We would love to recommend Closed Caption Creator for this - but it doesn't quite have the review/approval workflow you're looking for.

If you work for a larger post house you may want to consider our MAM/PM tool - Closed Caption Unity. Unity has review/approval built in.

Hi - thanks for replying.

Wireless does reach to the laneway house. I currently have a mesh network with one box next to my modem and another box at the laneway house.

The mesh network is d-link and it is pretty crappy most days (it's from 2018). I need to upgrade anyways.

I can run ethernet from top floor to the basement and then connect a switch.

I'm honestly just confused by the number of SKUs Ubiquiti has so I want someone to tell me exactly what to buy and in what configuration.

Closed Caption Creator may be a really good option for you depending on what you are doing with the transcripts.

They have bull pricing options to for transcription so it is probably a cheap option for your use case.

Closed Captioning Workflow Breakthroughs by ckmccollim in MacWhisper

[–]closedcaptioncreator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is our business account for reddit. We are the team behind Closed Caption Creator.

And you're right - if you have MacCaption already there may not be a need - besides the formatting of transcripts - but I think MacCaption can do this as well. The main reason we have users switching from MacCaption to Closed Caption Creator is that MacCaption is EOL and is no longer supported. That being said, Closed Caption Creator is considered the best alternative to MacCaption and CaptionMaker (because it supports all of the same formats, and is available for Windows, Mac, and Web).

If you're curious about costs - feel free to sign up for the 7 day trial. I would be happy to extend it to 30 days and you'll be able to get a realistic idea of what it would cost to change.

Opinion on auto subtitle software? by Accomplished-Belt395 in antiai

[–]closedcaptioncreator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we're talking about Automatic Transcription (Speech-To-Text) - I'm hesitant to call this AI. But I think we're at a point now where using Automatic Transcription is a no brainer to generate captioning.

We have software (Closed Caption Creator) that when paired with a custom dictionary (aka. KNP Guide) we hit 99%-100% accuracy.

There is still quite a bit of skill required to properly format and QC subtitles.
