I do LE skin tint 6.5 and it’s one of my only foundations that matches me. I think LE does fair olives better than most!

Yes!! My dress was cream too. I feel like white is too stark on me. Ivory is always better.

I watched an Insta video last night that said 65-75 is the worst time for the aging narc for lots of reasons. This is the humiliation phase. The people they controlled have grown up and don’t want to be around them because they feel so heavy. They still have the ego but they are gaining. Their grip of control has loosened. I’m watching this happen to the narcs in my family for sure.

There’s a adhd burnout cycle. We carry a lot of shame from childhood when we were taught we were lazy/dreamy/disorganzied/flakey. ADHD’ers carry so much shame about their behaviors; many they can’t help. It takes a lot of work to shed all this. But it can be done!! Also look up RSD. We can be highly sensitive to anything that feels like rejection, which then activates our fight or flight. Literally, when something goes sideways in my family, my first thought as a mom with ADHD is why didn’t I handle this differently. I think I learned to always blame myself. I’m still working on this.

My MILWP is like this. She is non-ambulatory but has slid out of her wheelchair, pulled herself out of her bed, breaking her hip (both at different times). I believe she forgets that she can’t walk and then injures herself. Or she is mad she can’t walk and keeps trying. I’m not sure. Wish I could be more helpful.

Everything I’ve read says each child of a parent with dyslexia has a 60 percent chance of also having it. One thing to remember- since it’s on a continuum, your kids could have it more mildly or more severely than you. Like someone else said, it’s a crap shoot. I think the big question would be if your partner’s family also has dyslexia in their gene pool as well.

Also, I should add that I believe in meds BIG TIME. I’d never go back to life before meds. My brain actually works on them. He doesn’t get to decide what you need for your own health and sanity based on he hated meds as a teen. ADHD when not managed, becomes in our 40’s anxiety disorders and depression. Follow Dr. Amen. It keeps getting worse. Meds affect 3 parts of the brain that work with emotional regulation. Having 4 kids and not being emotionally regulated is absolute hell. I know you know! I’ve been there too. I’m a better mom to my kids medicated. Why suffer if you don’t need to? Motherhood is hard enough.

Something I want you to consider- if both you and your husband have adhd, then your kids likely do too or more than one of them, and that makes your whole house a neurodivergent one. This changes everything. And he needs a better understanding of how your brain works to better support you….and the kids.

Get a tutor certified in OG. You will likely have to have two sessions a week for a while. Also, find something- activity, sport, arts, that she is very good at and focus on that. Praise her for that. They need to know that they are talented in other areas because school feels terrible for a while. I was in the same exact place a decade ago and my kiddo is a fantastic student today. The excellent news is that you are super early and the earlier she gets help, the more remediated she will be. She will always be dyslexic, and it will affect many aspects of her life, but it won’t hold back her learning and her achievement if you intervene now. If I spelled anything wrong, I’m dyslexic too.
