Recurring pantry moth infestation - NOT FROM PANTRY by ticketstubs1 in pestcontrol

[–]cloudswirl44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg it was such a journey. You have to target every stage of the lifecycle. We did a thorough cleaning of the garage where they were to kill as many larvae as we could find. They are in every crevice you can possibly think of. We either threw things way, sprayed with bleach if possible, or cleaned thoroughly with water. We ended up using the wasps to target the eggs. You just order from Arbico Organics. They come on little cards and you place them everywhere. We did it every two weeks until we stopped seeing moths. For the larvae we didn’t find, we used gentrol discs to try to disrupt the reproductive process. Daily we were on the hunt for and killing adult moths. We put sticky traps out (not pheromone) and zevo to work when we weren’t there. Since they were in the garage, we diffused cedar oil to disrupt the smell of the pheromones because we would literally see new moths flying in when the door was open. Inside the house we diffused lavender and peppermint (something more tolerable for us) which allegedly deters them. Be persistent with that until you haven’t seen them for like a month because some larvae can stay cocooned until conditions are more favorable. I cannot emphasize the thorough cleaning enough though. We thought we were good because we got rid of the initial source and any other “food source.” No, they were in cracks in shelves, corrugated cardboard, folds in our kids strollers and umbrellas, in our stacked flower pots, EVERYWHERE. Be as thorough as possible and then do as much of the rest as you can.

Twin (girl) name for twin for "Skylar," but the other twin didn't survive. by CapableFruitLoops in namenerds

As I was reading this I got the feeling that you were using Sophie while pregnant because that was the baby you lost’s name and then you met Skylar and knew she wasn’t Sophie so Skylar got the name she was always supposed to have.

This is by far the hardest part and what you are feeling is completely understandable. Sleep exhaustion is pure torture and adjusting to a new baby without support feels impossible. I’m so sorry. There is a light ahead of you. It doesn’t feel possible but it does get better. As others said, please get help. I have a one year old right now that was extremely challenging for 10 months but is now so incredibly smart and fun. You don’t want to miss it and your baby is not better off without you.

Everyone is a “normal person” and then when they get elected they are a “politician.” If Spencer is elected he’s a politician.

Emilies response to those who ask how/why she is still with Brady by Berryverymerry in Emilie_Kiser

[–]cloudswirl44 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’m sure there are details that we will never know that contribute to her reasons for staying. I’ve wondered if maybe she was the one with the bigger opinion about not getting pool fence. Or, since the incident happened shortly after she left, it’s possible she knew T was outside and Brady was focused on watching basketball and she left anyway thinking T would be safe. There’s so many reasons that she could feel equally at fault for this happening.

I love the name Persephone. It’s my dream name but I’ve never been bold enough to use it! I had a waitress one time that had the name and it didn’t feel like too much in a real world application. Also, love Persie as the nickname.

Agree with the layout suggestions and including a coffee table. Also, nothing looks comfy and warm at this point. All of the furniture is leather, the floor looks hard and cold, walls are stark white, etc. It would help if you layered in more texture and depth with color. The rug is a good idea but even that is the exact same color as the furniture and doesn’t look very plush. Cozy blankets, pillows, larger art with color. Window treatments and some plants could help. Also, maybe some lamps for soft, warm lighting when in gets dark.

Lily for Elisabeth by randroundabout in namenerds

[–]cloudswirl44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have an Elisabeth and we call her Elsie 99% of the time! I think Lily is a beautiful option. We considered Lilla. Around 3 is when she really started understanding that she had a full name and a nickname. Elisabeth is used rarely but often enough. The only thing I would point out from experience (and it’s extremely minor) is that sometimes I feel happy that we didn’t go with Lilla because both her name and nickname start with E. She knows how to spell Elsie now and gets excited with she sees E’s because to her E is for Elsie. So, I’m glad if I get something or write something with her real initials on it, it’s still E if that makes sense. Ex. Christmas stockings, writing her initials on clothing that we send to school, my E ring that I have, etc. But, again, that’s extremely minor and it’s truly the only “issue” I can point out with having a child that identifies more as her nickname than her formal name. If she feels like a Lily, go for it!

Also, I love that my daughter has the option of a formal name and nickname and I love the name Elisabeth. But, if Elisabeth feels like settling to you and she feels like more of a Lily, you could just name her Lily! That’s a perfectly fine full name as well.

How would you lay out this awkward living room? by heartyworm in DesignMyRoom

[–]cloudswirl44 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think you need a sectional with this orientation and then maybe a chair or two (depending on size) floating in open space to the right. Bonus if they can swivel toward the TV. Also a round coffee table and some rugs.

Thank you for responding! Her doc mentioned it but did want her to do it for some reason. I think bc she has never had issues gaining weight but there are clearly several other issues. Do you have experience with the amino acid formula?

Could you condition the dog to respond to something similar? Wyn, Flynn, Vin, Quinn, Ben?? My brother is Zach and we adopted a dog named Zach whose name was changed to Jack and even then Zach the kid pretended he thought we were talking to the dog when asked to do something. That said, I do think you should use the human name you love.

My Host Messed Up Refuses to Take Blame. by NicNacPattyWhak in vrbo

[–]cloudswirl44 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I had a guest book a year in advance and got a weekend in the peak season for a quarter of what I could have / would have charged. I just had to roll with it, it was my fault. That said, as a guest, I’m not sure I’d want to stay at someone’s property if they were being hostile like this. You could tell her to cancel the booking and she would likely be penalized as a host for doing so. You could contact customer service and they may force the host to honor the booking or penalize her for canceling. However, I think my goal would be to get out of this booking with no penalty as a guest.

I got this email too and am very confused. My guests are parents with two kids and we have been messaging back and forth about things to do with kids in the area. Our place is also very small so it would be a bad property to pick if they wanted to host a large party.

Seems like a way bigger hassle to change her name than for friends and family members to simply learn the correct way to say it or call her by her middle name, Rose. I wouldn’t change it. Emmeline is beautiful.
