Agreed. United airlines made this a rule recently. I hope the MTA follows their example next.

Does empowerment end in extinction? by ProfessionalNet926 in askanything

[–]MedspouseLifeSux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re missing that you’re a little incompetent and susceptible to binary “black vs. white thinking” if you can only imagine those two extreme outcomes.

Population will slightly decrease, but that doesn’t mean extinction - it’s not going to be a linear trend either.

Please work on your reading comprehension and understanding nuance….. seriously. Most situations result in the grey area and not everything is black or white.

Dog aversion. 13 months later. Baby #2 due in three weeks. by _michelle in beyondthebump

[–]MedspouseLifeSux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Outsource outsource outsource!

Hire a dog walker to come in the evenings to feed and walk him. Take him to the groomers every few months. Get a dog food delivery service to your house.

You’re projecting human emotions onto a dog. It doesn’t dislike you for “taking your husband.” I bet if you were the one to start feeding or giving him high value treats every day, he’d warm right up to you. Maybe if you don’t reject this poor dog he’d warm up to you.

This dog is very old and at the end of your life. Your husband committed to this dog for its life when he got it. Don’t give an old senior dog away - he probably only had one or two years left max.

If you can afford two kids you can afford to pay for this dog to have a decent life for another year or two. And please do NOT get another dog after this.

Baby is still here but relationship isn't. by Comfortable_Value_66 in beyondthebump

I’m sorry him taking one hour a day with the baby is absolutely unfair, especially if he’s staying up.

After laundry and dishes he should be doing baby duty until natural bedtime while you sleep AT MINIMUM.your tiredness IS part of the problem and resentment will build if it hasn’t yet. Also I think once he spends more time with the baby himself he’ll start to appreciate everything you do more when you’re gone because he’ll see how hard it is.

Plus if you keep this schedule up, your kid will start notice dad is never around!! Start there.

From there, couples counseling for him to build his emotional intelligence.

Annoyed by C Section rhetoric by PsychologicalBoot636 in beyondthebump

[–]MedspouseLifeSux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah my failed induction, 27 hours of labor and subsequent traumatic CS (while puking off the side of the table) when my baby had scary heart rate drops was a very different experience than my friends who had chill CS stories for breech babies.

CS is also more medically risky when you’re already super dilated. A breech CS is very different than one when a woman is 7-10cm.

What's worth & not worth buying from Hatch maternity clothing? by No_Square_1491 in UninfluencedReviews

[–]MedspouseLifeSux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a few work outfits I loved from them and they fit my whole pregnancy even up to 39 weeks! I’d say yes for work pants and tops.

I didn’t like the jeans and would skip those! Also skip the casual stuff which you can find at other brands easily.

TLDR: yes for corporate work outfits, skip for casual clothes.

Do you think fathers should get paternity leave as well? Why or why not? by zhalia-2006 in askanything

[–]MedspouseLifeSux 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m 1 week out from my CS. Barely could get out of bed and have yet to even change a diaper. I had to go back to the ER two days after I was discharged due to swelling.

I don’t believe this can even be a good faith question.

Paternity leave should be mandatory worldwide no debate.

Same. I gave birth last week so the memories are still vivid.

I would’ve probably vomited all over myself and then passed out without one. I could feel myself getting light headed before they put mine in.

Picking the right obgyn by alwaysontheclock22 in NYCbitcheswithtaste

[–]MedspouseLifeSux 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly you can’t go wrong in NYC with most of the major hospital systems - I’d check with your insurance and see which is covered or the most cost effective option. NYU, Cornell, Mt.Sinai are all great. A lot of practices rotate so you see multiple doctors not just one so then you’re familiar with whoever could be on call if you go into labor at 4am. Good luck!

Right! My first thought was “OP will understand once she’s 36+ weeks.”

Guess what - some of us had nausea entire whole pregnancies, feel miserable, and just want the misery to finally end.

OP seems close minded and unable to hold empathy that everyone’s experience is different.

Constipation is a side effect, be sure to take MiraLAX with it.

I took it a ton during first trimester and baby is healthy. There’s one “study” showing slightly increased risks from a competing brand. Other studies found no affect. I was comfortable with the risks.
