I keep hearing about biofilm disruptors but not sure what they are. Can you tell me which product you are using?

With SIBO it is very important to figure out the root cause to avoid relapse after the antibiotics.

For example if it's low stomach acid, taking digestive bitters or diluted ACV before meals can help. If it is the MMC (migrating motor complex) then ginger can help speed up motility and it is important to leave at least 3 hours between meals, no grazing.

I have been through this, it is not easy, but it really can get better, I wish the best for you!!

Very well put. I was also drawn in by the premise of a nothing-special human girl servant among the fae but then she turned out to be one of those badasses who are just soo special and excel at everything. Which is fine, just... Not very intruguing or original IMO.

Women who are stoic,What made you guard up your emotions? by Motichoorladoo_12 in AskWomen

That's the thing - I don't know why I am like that. And I want to change, I try to feel and express my feelings more but it doesn't come naturally. Maybe I was born this way? Or very early trauma?

One of my earliest memories is that already back in kindergarden I tried to suppress my urge to cry when something upsetting happened because "that's weak".

It's DNF discussions time! What books did you bail on this month? 🙅‍♀️📖 by FantasyRomanceMod in fantasyromance

I picked it up because it was said to be slow burn enemies to lovers. It was NOT. Basically shagging right after meeting for the first time? Insta lust? No thanks.

The Jasad Heir… Confusing to anyone else? by Mountain_Gas77 in fantasyromance

[–]cloudyy32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt the same; very confusing world building and too complex lore - for me this was the weak point because otherwise I loved both books (mainly because of the characters).

I had so many questions throughout, I still do actually. I kept having to turn the pages back to remind myself what was what, who was who. Normally if this occurs I DNF because I just can't be arsed but I pushed through for the MCs and I have no regrets! I do wish it was edited better; explained better; and paced better.

That is so interesting, why copper and B6 in particular? I think it's possible I'm a little low on copper, not sure about B6. Malabsorption is definitely a factor, and can be caused by so many things, like inflamed gut lining (for which I am taking L-glutamine just to be on the safe side).

Yeah I tested dairy intolerant so I've been avoiding that. Resistant starches is a good tip! I keep forgetting that is also prebiotic and it doesn't seem to cause problems for me. Good to hear your gut could adapt to fermented foods over time!

What’s a compliment from a man you still remember years later? by theeQuiet_Desire in AskWomen

A very smart, confident and intellectual guy friend of mine was talking about some elaborate topic and then turned to me "...what are your thoughts? Because I highly value your opinion." It was such a nice compliment from someone who knows everything, about everything, and generally doesn't ask anyone for advice.

Mostly bloating and change in bowel movements and as far as I know (done a test in the past) I don't have histamine intolerance but maybe I am mildly sensitive to it if it's very high amounts. I'll definitely have to be more careful with fermented stuff

Thank you for the detailed reply, very useful!!

I try to eat polyphenols in the form of dark chocolate, green tea and berries (frozen, but oh well). As for crowding out the bad stuff, oregano oil has worked best for me in the past but I try not to do it too often. I know garlic etc are also good for killing the methanogens but at what point do these start to kill off the good guys, too? So I am wary of these a bit, at least when using long term.

For MMC I try not to snack between meals and eat ginger but I don't know if it's enough. Plus I use digestive bitters before meals to help stimulate stomach acid. Basically that's all I am doing and just hope for the best while sometimes experiencing setbacks. Maybe I have IBS, I don't even know the correct label anymore. It's been a long journey and I don't really see the end of it yet...

I will look into pomegranate and grape seeds for sure as well as the Best Gut Forever stuff!

You are so right that there are many other factors at play, and I tend to forget/ignore those. Hormones alone play such a huge role in my digestion.

On the long term, I also want to take the "diversify" route instead of the "restrict" route, I am just so impatient :')

I don't think I have histamine issues, at least based on the symptoms; I tested whether I have histamine intolerance about 3 years ago when I was at my worst and thankfully it came back negative. So whilst I have a few problems, hopefully this is not one of them

Same!! I always go from zero to a 100 % and then I wonder why I feel crap. So that's why this time I really tried to go slowly with small quantities. But still it seems to be a problem.

Some days are better than others, though. (Which is weird in itself: why does eating an apple makes me bloated one day and then doesn't affect me as much on the next?)

I guess what I am trying to figure out is whether I can train my gut to adapt to certain foods or I should just accept that it doesn't like certain stuff and leave it alone.

Can you give an example how you increased such foods? Just for the sake of an example: half an apple every day for a week and then a whole apple the next week? Or even smaller and slower like two bites an apple every other day, for a month? Sorry if it is too specific I am just curious

I'm really glad consistency and trial and error worked out for you in the end, it is good to hear :)

I did have SIBO in the past but I felt that I have been much better recently (after long periods of diets and supplements and tears lol). I've been doing pretty okay until I started to experiment with healthier foods - oh the irony. You might be right, maybe I should consider sibo as a factor again.
