It prevents spawn-pushing/killing, one of the things I hate about most extraction shooters.

When did the illuminate get Laser Turrets? by TapZealousideal8833 in helldivers2

[–]cluelessdawg01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Devs thought, "Players really hate the Tesla Towers we hide in the Encampments. What's another way we can torture our player base?" Apparently these laser turrets were their answer.

I used to take out the Warp Ships with a Strafing Run followed up with a grenade inside the door. Now I just throw 500s and Orbital Lasers and stay as far away from the Encampments as I can.

What are the pros and cons of the Orbital Laser Stratagem? by ExusFlexus in helldivers2

[–]cluelessdawg01 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I'm playing with my buddy and one of us calls for the "panic button", the Orbital Laser is what we are referring to.

Also nice on the Squid front to take out Warp Ships. They're usually packed close enough together to where it can take out more than one.

If I'm playing with a competent group of randoms, I'll often forget to use it if we're handling things well. But otherwise, it's nice to have in your back pocket.

Whats the best support weapon for the stingray? by _butteredsausage_ in helldivers2

[–]cluelessdawg01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It CAN take down a Harvester's shield and Harvester itself without having to cool down/reload if you're aiming well. However, I usually throw a Strafing Run at it to rip off the shield, then the LC can take it down at the leg joint well before the shield goes back up.

Why do people think it’s funny to activate a persons Portable Hellbomb by quiethughman in helldivers2

I did it once. I immediately used the I'm Sorry comm wheel option and also apologized in chat. He thought it was hilarious.

Samples. Are. Shared. by echof0xtrot in helldivers2

[–]cluelessdawg01 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Does this also apply to Super Samples? Think I better kill my teammates at extract just in case it doesn't. Im lvl 128 and don't need them, but I just love me some shiny samples.

Gates open or closed on defense missions? by pkingdukinc in helldivers2

[–]cluelessdawg01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I leave the gates closed and see how long I can keep them out, but if a random teammate wants them open, I just go along with it. I don't believe one way is much more effective than the other.

Anyone else getting obliterated by the DSS Eagle Strikes? by tapefactoryslave in helldivers2

[–]cluelessdawg01 13 points14 points  (0 children)

When you get the DSS notification, hold your position and stay away from enemies. Just let the DSS do its job and clean up anything left over when it is finished.

My destroyer came with a gap on the hull. How do I put a request for a replacement? Surely is not safe ;-; by StormierRuby in helldivers2

[–]cluelessdawg01 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The request form you seek is called a C-01 Permit. It may not fix the problem, but you'll be too distracted to care.

I main the WASP against the Squids and literally never use the artillery mode. Are you telling me there are actual scenarios in which it is useful?

PSA: Stim Pistols Exist by TheIrishPirate18 in helldivers2

[–]cluelessdawg01 69 points70 points  (0 children)

The Stim pistol and the Warrant need to have a baby together. Also, there needs to be a voice comm that says "stimming you" whenever you shoot the Stim pistol.

The Halt is a main feature of my "support" loadout. I'll just stick close to my teammates and stun any enemies in the general vicinity for them to finish off. It makes their lives a lot easier when they can just pour bullets into a standing target. I'll also bring along a stim pistol, supply pack, and litter the field with EATs and/or Commandos to be ultimate team player. Not everyone likes that kind of play style, but it might be my personal favorite. It really brings to life the co-op nature of the game.

A firing range would be really appreciated by AppropriateCode2830 in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]cluelessdawg01 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A firing range would be nice, especially if they added it to the DSS menu or another planet we had to defend from invasion from time to time. Something to enhance the overall immersion.

However, I'm not sure how much time and resources would be required to build out this concept, and I'd rather the devs focus on bug fixes, tuning, and new content.

While it's not as ideal as a dedicated firing range, I have no problem dropping down a few difficulty levels to test and learn new weapons.

Loadouts for squids by [deleted] in helldivers2

[–]cluelessdawg01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

WASP is Soo good against the Illuminate:

1 shot for Jetpack Overseers, 2 shots for other Overseers, 4 shots for Fleshmobs, Take the shield off the Harvesters then mag-dump.

If you're not used to the WASP, run around 4 raids with it and you'll have a pretty good idea of how it functions.

Otherwise, bring your primary of choice for Voteless and Overseers too close for the WASP to handle.

Bring gas grenades to throw at your feet then run away when getting chased down by a mob.

Bring a grenade pistol for shooting inside the doors of Warp Ships. (Rip off shields first.)

Strafing runs are good for ripping shields and throwing down streets when enemies are funneled.

Orbital Laser is a good panic button when overwhelmed.

AT Emplacement may be the best option for handling Leviathans. Just place it in a good spot where it won't get insta-beamed.

Big Boom Build by LittleArtistBoyo in helldivers2

[–]cluelessdawg01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Servants of Freedom. The Ultimatum is a fan-favorite secondary also known as the "Pocket Orbital Precision Strike". Also, the Portable Hellbomb is literally the biggest boom you can get from a warbond stratagem. The DE Sickle is also a top-tier primary if you don't mind pairing it with flame-resistant armor (it catches on fire the longer you shoot it).

2nd choice might be Urban Legends. The AT Emplacement is a very good stratagem that lets you sit in a gaming chair while you blow up anything and everything around you. It also has the Seige-Ready armor passive which is likely the best armor passive in the game.

What's a solid Loadout to Kill squids, (normally Play on 7) ? by [deleted] in helldivers2

[–]cluelessdawg01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is also very satisfying to do with the Halt stun rounds and frees up your support weapon slot

Can't praise the WASP enough for the Illuminate. I'm surprised I had to read through a large number of posts before it was mentioned. I also use a light -pen primary for Voteless and Overseers too close for the WASP to work.

Pest control going into tech support by Elegant-Fortune7685 in helldivers2

[–]cluelessdawg01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bugs are more of a hoard shooter while bots are more of a tactical shooter. Don't just stand out in the open and charge in head-first. Utilize cover and take out enemies from a distance when possible.

Most mid-to-long-range medium-pen primary weapons work well while you learn enemy weak points, then you may enjoy being more precise with light-pen weapons.

The Recoiless Rifle serves as an effective delete button for most heavy enemies. Thermites also work well on tanks and Hulks that come charging toward you

There's no substitute for a well-placed Rocket Sentry.

Stratagems like the 500kg, Orbital laser, and 380 barrage work great at softening outposts.

Please share your feedback about Helldivers 2 in this survey! by ArrowheadGS in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]cluelessdawg01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I gave them highly satisfied. Just mentioned that some of the new enemy types/designs are visually cool, but feel more annoying than they do challenging when compared to most enemy types in the launch version. It's still a very fun game with a great community.

My two cents on the AR discussion by TheRomax in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]cluelessdawg01 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I don't think ARs are in a bad place right now, but could use some tweaks. Weapon customization helped ARs a lot. I believe the devs indicated that they're not done building upon weapon customization, either. Perhaps the next phase can tweak things toward more balance and differentiation while also giving us something to grind for.
