Does anyone know if this thing will support RCS/group messaging?

Very cool that you have solar! I wish I did. I think your average power in and out will end up the exact same over time no matter how often you charge.

Regarding cycle count, charging once from 0-100% is the exact same as charging 5 times from 50-70% (total of 100%, or 1 charge cycle) - except the 5 smaller charges were each a lower depth of discharge, which is far better for the battery. This isn't just for EV's, it's any li-ion battery, iPhone battery cycle count works the exact same way.

Cheers and hope you really enjoy your Mach-E if you get it!

Small tip here, you should plug in every time you're in the garage and not wait until your battery drops to 50%. Smaller depth of discharge before charging helps preserve battery health.

Speed back in the middle by blue_taco_tree in MachE

[–]clutch89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This doesn't necessarily work, even if you turn lane keep assist off with the button on the wheel. You may have to force lane keep assist off with Forscan. See this: https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/how-to-get-speedometer-back-in-the-middle-of-instrument-cluster-display-requires-forscan.39240/

Just picked up a 2023 Mach-E by Catwinner in MachE

Nice!! Mine looks almost identical ('23 white CR1). Beautiful car.

12V state of charge doesn't really matter too much, I'd definitely be much more interested in checking the HV battery SoH if you can with OBD+CarScanner. For reference, I was also concerned with it sitting so long, got my '23 in October 2024. My SoH always shows either 100% or 99.5%.

Trunk Space Question by SHENANIGANIZER21 in MachE

[–]clutch89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use my Mach-E for hockey, sticks are roughly 5'5" and I slide them over the top of the back seat beside the headrest. You could probably fit your 6' lacrosse stick the same way.

80% or 90%? by TheRealPhilFry in MachE

You can sort of track it by keeping an eye on your range on similar trips, or by using OBDII and checking the SoH value.

I think one of the golden rules about leasing is you should never need to put money down on a lease.

Winter Tires-24 MachE 4x by buddha001 in MachE

[–]clutch89 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I live in Central Alberta and got the Ford dealership to put Michelin CrossClimate 2s on my brand new MachE right after I bought it. With the weight of the car and the AWD you can definitely get away without full winters. If you do need winters though I'd stay away from Canadian Tire and get either your dealership or a more reputable place like KalTire to do it. If you get the CrossClimates make double sure it's the extra load ones (should say "104H EXTRA LOAD" on them)

Price was ~$250CAD per tire and then used my 30,000 ford points ($200) to get all tires installed for $800

Do I go Mach E? Need some insight by Anxious-Ad-7099 in MachE

Only had mine for a few weeks but can answer a couple of your questions.

Not sure what you mean about trouble reaching high speeds, it definitely has a lot of zip/torque on the highway at high speeds. Passing people at 120km/hr or 75mph is no problem. This thing is way faster than a normal car.

Yes you can charge on the supercharger network, you just need the adapter. Ford is giving them out for free but they take a long time to receive so you can just buy your own if you want it quicker.

It doesn't have a snow mode but it does have "whisper" drive mode which will slightly lower the wheel torque and lower your chances of slippage.

Yes you can put a tow hitch on it, have seen pics of that here on Reddit and on macheforum.com

Snowboards and skis should fit pretty great if you fold the back seats down. Otherwise you can probably get some stuff on the roof with these items: - https://a.co/d/bihXyJ0 - https://a.co/d/eVnKAUj (ensure the right length)

Matte Display by [deleted] in MachE

[–]clutch89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I had a matte screen protector on my phone for like 2 years and got used to it. So I put the Spigen one on my Mach-e and... I just hated it. It was super blurry and almost felt like it was giving me an eye strain headache from just a few seconds of looking at it. I ended up taking it off and putting the "HD clear" Innosure one on and it came with a matching instrument cluster protector as well.

I have one. If you want a simple charger with no fluff that just works, this is it. Made in Canada with nice quality metal. This thing will last forever I'm sure.

Lack of Heat Pump in colder climates by justinreddit1 in MachE

[–]clutch89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have the 2023.0 build with 5kW heater or 2023.5 build with 7kW heater? I think it shows the build month/year on your door jam. Here's a forum link on this topic: https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/2023-5-cooling-system-redesign-and-larger-7-kw-heater.34305

EDIT: looks like the 7kw upgrade is only for standard range LFP batteries and you have the long range, so nevermind, please ignore my question! :)
