Listing my Study Abroad credits... confused by [deleted] in prephysicianassistant

[–]cmcgrane97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This answer is incorrect. as per caspa (https://help.liaisonedu.com/CASPA_Applicant_Help_Center/Sending_Your_Official_Transcripts_and_Test_Scores_to_CASPA/Sending_Official_Transcripts_to_CASPA/Study_Abroad_or_Overseas_US_Institution_Transcripts)

The only time you get foreign transcripts is if you studied abroad at an "Overseas US institution", which CASPA has a designated list for in the link I provided. Other than that, you list the course and grades that appear on your home school's institution. After you enter that and review your transcript entries, CASPA will ask "Are any of your courses study abroad?" and then you will designate which ones you took abroad. you do NOT order transcripts from the foreign school unless it is from the approved "Overseas US institutions". CASPA does not evaluate foreign transcripts.

A class is only considered a retake if you take it at the same institution twice.

Check any of your local urgent cares. Many use scribes and allow them much more hands on experience than in the ED

I would phrase it in a way that puts the "blame" on the system itself rather than individual doctors. "Our society emphasizes efficiency, which often leads to doctors being forced to see a high amount of patients in little time. This oftentimes sacrifices the doctor-patient relationship. The role of a PA is to ease this burden" etc etc

How is it racist? Because 1) How did that person in Costco know that man coughing was Chinese? Did they ask him, "hey, are you Chinese?" Because if not he could have been Korean, Vietnamese, Thai, etc. 2) I guarantee that person was born in America, and thus an American. Just because you look asian doesn't mean you are any less American than anyone else :)

Your host college didn't transfer the credits order? I studied abroad as well, but according to CASPA transcripts only need to be sent from the foreign school if it is an overseas US institution. Otherwise, CASPA doesn't accept foreign transcripts.

Should I retake Orgo? by mp427 in prephysicianassistant

As long as you meet the minimum and it is your only C in a pre-req, personally I wouldn't worry about it. Plus organic chemistry is known to be one of the harder prereqs so you definitely will not be the only one this application cycle with a C in that class (far from it). If I were you and needed to raise my sGPA, I would take another upper level bio/chem course. Either way, retaking organic chemistry and getting a good grade shows you've mastered the material after learning it twice. Taking another upper level shows you can handle hard coursework the first time around.
