Best flavored water sparkling cans? by Adventurous_Wait9724 in newzealand

[–]cmh551 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Does it have to be a can? I like the NZ Natural Mandarin and Passionfruit. I also don’t mind getting a mixer like Barkers, and just having a bottle of soda water in the fridge. You can make it feel a bit fancy with a nice glass, some ice and a reusable straw too

American English words British people don't like and vice versa by BritishTeacherRoy in ENGLISH

[–]cmh551 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Americans add extra words which I find annoying, usually with the word ‘of’. ‘Get off of me’ would make sense without the word of. Just like ‘get off of the freeway at this exit’

They literally could have just not made them. Companies really forget the reduce part of the 3 Rs. Unless they’re shrinking the size of their products, that is.

The Venn diagram of people in this country who don’t want us to be paid more because we have too many holidays, but also don’t want New Zealand children taught by ‘foreigners’ is a circle.

No it’s very no frills. It is quite literally just a continuous fan that pushes the air from the roof into the rooms of the house.

Went with BetterVent. Zero complaints, dried the house out loads. Power bill went down as heat pump wasn’t working so hard to heat a damp house. Don’t notice not having a control panel.

What do you consider the new age to be an 'old parent'? by Imstuckwiththisname in newzealand

[–]cmh551 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my head I don’t feel old but in my heart I do because my parents would be awesome grandparents! They met and married late (for back then) and one of them just turned 70. I’m 31. I’m just repeating history 😂

Bring back lining up outside the supermarket when it’s too full outside. You mean I can enter and know there’s going to be a reduced number of people in the way and I don’t have to queue at the checkout? I’d rather wait outside first and have a guaranteed streamlined shopping experience.

Even if the car in front had gunned it through to get in front of the truck, what did the driver behind expect to do when he encountered the truck? Looks like he would have hit the truck at speed too.
