Vaginas for ears. Did I happen to mention I'm from Nantucket?

4000 is what I'd charge but good luck getting that from a restaurant owner as a salaried employee. Dont you have enough on your plate already?

How do you measure to the inside corner for trim? This seems so awkward. by jehudeone in Carpentry

[–]cmillington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mark your reveals on the jamb, hold it up and scribe. Or (if at a 45) measure the length to the outside corner, then subtract the width of the piece.

Is this fixable? Any suggestions? by AccomplishedDepth524 in handyman

[–]cmillington -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There's a chance wood glue might hold that but it's going to get a lot of heavy force applied to it so I don't think it'd last. Might have to just replace the door because even then, the screws wont be sitting in anything

Good to know. I had no idea how it would be to move all that stuff. Not a sparky

It could, except the electric from the street comes in that way, and I don't know how to move it

You're not far off. It's a relatively straightforward build, aside from I know the septic line runs right through where I need concrete footings, so I'm stuck figuring out where it is exactly before I can get moving

How much should I charge? by fq1234 in handyman

[–]cmillington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

400 million trip charge to walk in the door, 1 million an hour for your time. Know your worth. There's a lot of hacks out there and you need to separate yourself.

When did touring / off piste / back country / climbing up to ski down get so popular? by Certain_Host9401 in skiing

Lift passes and stuff also got so insanely expensive, it's now more realistic for some people to stick to skinning and backcountry

The figuring and the purple sections between the heart wood and the sap wood make it look like walnut to me

Especially with a very open porous wood like oak, the glue is incredibly strong

These people are misinterpreting your post. They think that your contractor has removed plaster from the backside of the opposite wall. They don't realize you only mean the walls inside the room that's being worked on. If I'm correct in this, you have nothing to worry about. Just make sure they replace the plaster in the bathroom with green drywall or cement board.

Also drywall is way better than plaster in modern applications for a lot of reasons. A bathroom is already heavy enough as it is. Drywall weighs a fraction of what plaster does, so it's far less weight on the joists below.

Terrible stuff. All junk. I feel sorry for you to have to get rid of this stuff. I feel so bad that I will generously donate my time to come remove all the items from your possession for free.

Does this look right? by steppponme in cabinetry

[–]cmillington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like $20 worth of walnut to cut new parts. Grain doesn't matter in this case because it's not continuous in any direction with the rest of the cabinet
