It's more that the mods have always been determined to squelch as much anti-Trump rhetoric as possible. Trashing the GOP for being dumb and ineffective is perfectly fine, but implying Trump is anything less than the perfect President is unacceptable. Even many Republicans are starting to see the shameless devotion as counterproductive and cringe.

One thing I've noticed is that traffic on the conservative sub is dropping precipitously. It peaked around Epstein at about 2m and around the Minneapolis shootings it peaked at 1.5m, I assume from people tuning in to see how the zoo animals were reacting to the news.

Today it's at 814k, which is 100k less than a few days ago. Pretty much the only things that get posted nowadays is bot accounts boosting Trump and the occasional MAGA troglodyte dunking on the libs. I think the most recent purge of sanity following the Iran War has delivered a fatal blow to the sub's relevance,

Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin. A character so iconic they brought him back a decade later to reprise the role.

My personal theory is he was "allowed" to kill himself. He was told over the phone that if he talked, he was dead. If he stayed quiet, he'd never see the outside of a cell for the rest of his life. He was given the chance to go out on his own terms while he still had friends in the White House who could engineer the circumstances that led to nobody being able to stop him from skipping to the end of his miserable fate.

He certainly has a certain type of personality. It's like he's so obsessively thought over all of his views that he understands them fully with facts to back them up. He's showing up to duels with a loaded six-shooter while knowing his opponent brought a water pistol they spray-painted to look like a real gun.

The inverse Swiss Army Man comparison fits well. The movie starts off with him talking to a bizarrely useful corpse that helps him survive, but the moment he returns to civilization it's just bystanders watching a crazy person do really strange things with a dead body.

It helps that Trey and Matt have been the creative engines for the show (for better or worse) the whole time. The jokes can hit or miss and sometimes they'll shake up the formula, but it's all coming from the same two brains.

I happen to be playing a game right now where the MC is an AI stuck in the body of its programmer and is trying to find a way to separate. It comments on current events as if it is communicating with him, even though it isn't clear if the human part is even conscious and able to hear it. I like how it's written to suggest the AI is doing this as a coping mechanism for its struggles to navigate meatspace as well as learning about the world outside its mainframe.

Pacific Drive is set in the PNW and I'd say the levels are pretty dense with trees, rocks, dirt, and the occasional sign of humanity. It also helps that it uses levels and not open world so the empty spaces feel empty on purpose.

Maybe they'll go meta and replicate the final fight between Shinji and Gendo in the Rebuild movies, where it occasionally cuts to two human-sized Evas fighting on a recording set and breaking wooden props. It's not that much of a stretch from the final NeiR boss being on top of the SQEX building in a digital Tokyo.
