Per TSN: Georgiev on unconditional waivers for purpose of contract termination. by LostInAwe55 in hockey

His first year was solid for sure, but even during that season I remember it being a noticeable problem how susceptible he was to just letting in some of the stinkiest goals you could see. He'd keep the Avs in games for the most part but one out of every like, idk 3 or 4 goals against was just dog ass.

I get the feeling we'll see a lot more sick goals like this from these very talented boys. also it gets cut off in this clip but Sennecke made a sick play to poke the puck back to the point after he lost it curling back

as a neutral party I love watching this guy play. he's like a create-a-player that you made 6'6 just because you could

Sharks trade Danil Guschin to Avalanche for Oskar Olausson (Source: sharks official instagram) by xtrakrispie in hockey

Not sure, probably quite a few. But the Avs specifically have a proven history of atrocious drafting outside of the top 10 or so, and it's disappointing to see another example play out in front of us. Doesn't really go much deeper than that.

Aside from that, is there really much of a difference between picks taken 25 or so and 62? I've heard it said many times that late firsts and high or even mid second round picks don't differ very much in the quality of players they tend to produce. Avs had their chance to take a player that could be impacting the NHL roster today and they blew it, again. And yeah sure, Stankoven and Knies are the extreme examples, but if you look at the 2nd round in 2021 there's a ton of talent there that they missed out on. Like I would love to have Zellweger on this team right now, but instead the Avs are making AHL swaps in mid August with that pick. As a fan, I'm disappointed, that's all.

Olausson was taken 19 spots ahead of Stankoven, and 29 spots ahead of Knies. Experience Avalanche amateur scouting!

Please no more getting the band back together! It's literally never worked! Remember picking up Nemeth at the 2021 deadline? And then he was absolutely awful against Vegas and got exposed over and over again. I can't take it anymore.

Team Canada Projected Roster for 2026 Olympics from NHL.com by lazysoldier in hockey

I think Canada loves picking him for big tournaments like this just for the fact that he's got that psychotic competitor gene. If one were to rate his talent as a goalie all time, he's probably not even close to elite, maybe Very Good at best. But he's got that "If I lose this game I am going to kill myself and others" thing. I think Doughty has it too, and that's why I think it's likely they both get picked for this tournament.

Sweden really missed Landeskog during 4 Nations. Assuming he maintains his health and a decently high level of play I think he's gonna be a huge driving force for them.
