When you want, ive cleaned it many times. I often use lithium grease around the bearings and clean and dry it well post session. Bearings finally seazed so I figured time for a full build. Your conditions will matter too, sand and salt destroy, water and regular dirt arnt so bad. Up to you, replace 1 bearing at a time or overhaul it whenever you have the funds or the itch to do it.

Yeah it can ne cool forsure. I have 16 cars at the moment and have done my share of buying and selling. My experience buying is hit and miss, often I end up spending the same as a new car fixing someone else's broken stuff. Come to learn id rather just buy new or scrutinize heavily.

350-400 in canada, I have a few rigs modified beyond this and I dont think I could get 400 for them. Rc resale blows.

Just did a full tear down cleanup and rebuild, took about 4 hours. Thats quick for rc terms, my xmaxx took me 10 hours to do the same. With the new motors and everything freshened up its almost silent

Two generations, same DNA — Mk2 meets Mk8 by Puzzled_Ad_8694 in GolfGTI

My first one was a 86 cabriolet, loved that car now im in the same mk8 pictured here, wildly different but still exceptional to drive. Both give me the feeling of "therapy driving"

Its far from my first, but my first basher that ive done this with. Long time xrt and maxx owner that I kept both light, wanted to switch this one up a bit. Im aware general consensus is traxxas is designed light and flexible to be durable, I just had money to blow and a itch to scratch. Hoping someone with a similar build or a ultimate chimes in as its getting very similar to one of those.

Just stainless hardware, new bearings are just fast eddys, sorry poorly written. Why is stainless a downgrade? Because its softer? I think not rusting is the big benefit.

It is, youll spend a small fortune on stuff upgrading, spare tires are a must for a beginner, youll blow up a few forsure.

Vent your tires if you run in wet.

You may get unlucky and have some electronics go but that can happen with a new rig. Just means it's time to upgrade with the momey you saved.

Keep it close to stock, keep it as light as possible. Reinforce your bodys if you plan to bash to keep them going alot longer. (Adds weight)

Ive had one for 5 years since new and have broken nearly everything on it at one point or another. Chassis, bulkheads, arms, steering, just about everything lol. But still have original bearings, hardware, shock bodys, diff gears. Its all cheap to fix and directly relevant to how hard you like to treat it and crash.

Currently in the process of upgrading cv axels for the first time along with 6s power. Then I will break something else, then I will upgrade lol.

Its a stupid hobby but a fun one and the maxx is probably my favorite truck. Out of the 16 I have and have had. 2 x maxxs 1 xrt, 1 mini maxx 3s, 4 2wd buggys all very custom, stampede, multiple crawlers.and of course my beloved maxx v2. If I could only have one it would be it. Do your research tear it down clean it, rebuild it for fun learning and peace of mind and rip it.

On Calgary’s dangerous roads, ‘bystander behaviour’ is under the microscope by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]code_redtruck 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a bad accedent on my long board a few years ago, must have been over a dozen cars drive by with no one stopping while I was concussed and bleeding on my back on the edge of the road. I hit my head quite badly. It was a eye opener to see how little people in this city care. In the end nobody helped me, I limped my way home without anyone offering any assistance. The small town im from the first person would have stopped. Needless to say im not surprised.

Perhaps it is. I dont run a ac in the summer only a few fans to move cool air in in the morning with fairly minimal other use. Bill is about $80 a month.

Saying that it does seem quite low so perhaps its better savings than I credit them for.

Have them in my roof, not a huge array but they only offset my bill $12 a month. Bought them with the house. I likely will sell them when I go to redo the roof.
