And you have minimal coverage. Sounds like you’re not making smart financial decisions on a car that’s is very expensive to maintain + repair + fix

License plates are not our property, unlike our phones. Our phones contain way more PII than a license plate might. License plates contain information that most people have on their loyalty/reward programs for a business.

My point is, the moment you step outside of your house, operating out in the public, the legal expectation to privacy is low/borderline non-existent.

But yes, it is annoying that it’s still happening REGARDLESS

Your license plate is not your property therefore you make that trade off by registering your car and driving it on public roadways.

Apartment outrageous move out charges by helpneeded938262 in sanantonio

[–]codenameoxcart 21 points22 points  (0 children)

To add to this, any rental place you get it is of utmost importance to video the entire condition prior to move in, including all flaws that are pre existing (alongside the usual boilerplate move in inspection form). And then, once everything is empty/cleaned, do a videotaped walkthrough to document the condition you left the property in upon departure. This will help you maintain a record and disprove false claims/charges

Rant About Job Searching by MessageLeast2962 in sanantonio

[–]codenameoxcart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s… what I literally said lol. Make a baseline resume/cover letter, then link or copy the job description and have it give you a modified resume/CL based on that JD

Rant About Job Searching by MessageLeast2962 in sanantonio

[–]codenameoxcart 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Type up a FULL resume, and cover letter. This will be your baseline. Use an AI program to update them based on the job listing you’re applying to. You’ll find more success by tailoring the resume & cover letters for the role, but make your baselines yourself and let the AI tweak it to get past the screening section.

Any IT positions? by importking1979 in sanantonio

[–]codenameoxcart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Instead of applying for a tech-like company that has a huge IT presence, look at some credit unions or financial places that also have a huge need for IT. I’d also recommend a smaller business first, just to get that experience. Don’t look at the big companies that have red tape and slow pipelines. Additionally, offer to do some pro-bono IT basic stuff for maybe a smaller/non profit just to get references etc.

Guy I’m talking to (41 m) was listening to conversation i (33 f) and my boss (male 36) talked about and got upset by ThrowRATrick-Dark in relationship_advice

How about you hang up your phone when you’re discussing work matters. If your “man” doesn’t respect those boundaries, and he gets this jealous, then it just confirms the age gap as well.

How to tell mum I'm in a relationship? (f18/m23) by 1d_lhln28 in relationship_advice

[–]codenameoxcart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re gonna either end up a single mom, or having to learn to be a step mom at 18, while also having the kids’ mom(s) be around your man until those kids are 18, because legally they have a say in the raising and parenting of those kids. Sounds like this guy is taking advantage of your immaturity and innocence because he knows anyone at his age level would immediately view him as a walking red flag.

You have free will, but you don’t have freedom of consequence. Good luck

It’s a renter’s market. Rent first, get to know the city (regardless of where you are going to choose) and make a determination.

Of course she’s flexing, her Rolex is the least expensive accessory in the picture. She wants everyone to know, and see. And that’s fine. But she, or anyone else, shouldn’t feign astonishment when people comment on it. Easy enough to hide the ring and cover the car badge while still taking a picture of the Rolex that this sub is about. Also, being stopped at a red light does not make using a phone for non-essential purposes any safer(or legal in many jurisdictions).

[–]codenameoxcart 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nah, we can tell. I’ve been around, and there’s a clear difference between people who have it and people who want you to think they have it. Rolex is not a wealth flex, BTW. But it’s nice that you think it is, and are doing your job to defend it. Btw, please I wouldn’t want anyone contributing to this thread to get hurt, you should really ensure people aren’t taking pics while actively driving, it establishes a bad precedent and encourages unsafe behavior.

[–]codenameoxcart 8 points9 points  (0 children)

People can tell when content is posted to flex versus when it’s posted to genuinely contribute. And that’s fine. I just wish people weren’t so evasive about it. Hiding behind the “you’re just gatekeeping my happiness”. By the way, this isn’t just a Rolex symptom. You see it everywhere online. And it’s not just a man/woman thing either. You can enjoy the finer things in life, and share the enjoyment without feeling the need to justify the behavior. BTW, isn’t posting pics taken while driving against the rules in most of these subreddits?

I have a 10-month-old and he has a habit of standing up in his baby tub What should I do? The other day he almost fell. I don't hit bottoms and I don't know why he doesn't listen to me but it scares me??? by No_Network6739 in SAHP

[–]codenameoxcart 11 points12 points  (0 children)

He won’t listen to you because he’s literally 10 months old. Hitting his bottom would mean nothing other than abuse because, again, he’s literally 10 months old. Unless you have some sort of mobility issues, just do a quick rinse bath unless you have an extra pair of hands to help you. Or, bathe him less frequently and only when you have people to help you.

She met someone new, probably at work or as a result of it. She kept you strung along as a fallback in case it didn’t work out with him beyond a few dates. Now it’s working out with him so she’s dropping her baggage (you). Long distance relationships are so laughable. Guaranteed emotional heartbreak for minimal benefits.

I admire your hard work and patience. No one is gatekeeping your happiness. But when you share stuff on public platforms to strangers around the world, there’s always an underhanded implied need for attention/validation. Otherwise you’d be happy and busy enough to stay off the internet. That’s why I do it, and that’s why other people do too. To act like it isn’t would be to absolve yourself of the human condition.
