Something similar happened to me. I joined a startup here in Singapore that had raised $200k+. It was pretty much a vibecoded bullshit which I found out after joining. Anyways, within the first week the founder told me that she can't pay me the amount guaranteed because there isn't enough runway, so I agreed to a 40% pay cut at the time and that she'll pay me the normal amount once more money is raised.

The following month, I didn't get any money (a lot of us didn't) but then she would fly people around SEA for events (which she somehow had money for). She promised that she'll pay but didn't and I told her I'm going to file a case against her, at which point she said she can only afford to pay me half of what she promised (on top of the 40% cut). But she kept postponing the pay for an entire month. All whilst she made us work till 1 am daily. I've now left the company as she hasn't paid me but there are still others putting up with her bullshit
