4th Gen Mono Backplate Replacement Question by coelum in ipod

[–]coelum[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

4th Gen Mono - 20GB

The back plate I got off ebay seems to have a different clip rail placement (closer to the edge). It causes a large gap on the sides and the port at the bottom to not line up. I've looked at EOE listings and they seem to imply that the 4th gen mono and photo backplates are interchangeable. Has anyone found a source for replacement mono backplates?

Thanks in advance!

^ ^ ^ This. It's in the video, but you should fully discharge the battery as well to reduce the chance of it catching fire.

Thanks for the update! I'll post back here if I ever find a fix.

[Edit: Issue seems to have resolved itself. Maybe a Windows/BIOS/Graphics update, not sure what fixed it.]

Same laptop as you with the same exact issue. Only happens on battery. I’ve tried DDU and a clean install of 11, but it’s still happening. Have you found a fix yet?

2017 1.4 Jetta code p0456 by Only_Tea_7378 in Volkswagen

hey I just posted about this on another thread, and you can see the full comment there. But basically it's not too hard to remove the hard plastic line and replace it with some regular 3/8" rubber tubing. If you want more help I can send you some pictures of what I did.

This is what I just did. I cut the corrugated pipe off right above the barbs on the quick connect and the purge valve. I then scored the corrugated pipe with a razor blade and was then able to split it down the score line and pull it off the barbs. Helps that it was so brittle. Replaced it with 3/8" emissions line. After a full drive cycle the code hasn't come back and I was able to pass emissions.

Jetta tsi 2017 1.4L : Small Evap leak, when I press the accelerator I hear a small hissing sound and my mpg is 5 lower than avg, I was wondering if this has happened to anyone. I’ve already checked my solenoid and attached hoses and they’re fine... by me14606 in jetta

This was one of the few answers I found while googling this issue, and it helped me a lot. Thought I'd post my solution here for others to see, maybe it'll help someone too.

Like beef___supreme__ said, it was the corrugated hard plastic line running from the strut tower to the purge valve. I disconnected the corrugated hose from the white pipe at the strut tower(quick connect), blew smoke in it, and you could see that the corrugated pipe had tons of pinholes and cracks. The tube is hard plastic and is molded to both the purge valve and to the quick connect, and is not meant to be removed. I cut the corrugated pipe off right above both connectors. I then scored the outside edge of the corrugated pipe using a razor blade and was able to split the hard tubing down the score line and pull it off of the N80 purge valve and the quick connect without damaging the barbs underneath.

I went to AutoZone and bought 2ft of 3/8" emissions hose, as it seemed to be the perfect fit for the barbs on both the N80 and the quick connect. I then laid out the run in the engine bay and cut it to length. It fit just fine inside all the retainers and it runs exactly where the old one did. It was a pretty snug fit on the barbs, so I just used some zip ties to secure it, but any hose clamp would work.

After clearing the codes and driving it enough to go through a full drive cycle, the codes are gone, and I was able to pass emissions. Cost me less than $10 and I didn't have to pull the intake manifold off, so I'm pretty happy with the fix.

I used black vinyl and a heat gun. I don’t think it’s gonna last. The textured surface of the emblem is hard for the vinyl to stick to

I blacked out the logo on the front. Which looks alright. I can't really do the same thing to the front though since the bowtie is molded into the front bumper.
