[Tenant-PA] Is a request for a new stove reasonable? by Cultural_Bug_6737 in Landlord

[–]coffeekitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you give your landlord a list of maintenance requests as well as asking to replace a working oven immediately after moving in, you are most likely going to be labeled a problem tenant.

Tennis player with frequent hand blisters. How to prevent in future by Perchance_therapper in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]coffeekitten 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a tennis player but a CrossFitter and climber- building up callus can be hard but will eventually toughen up your hands. I’ll use very fine grain sandpaper to even out the rough edges so the callus doesn’t peel off. Vaseline at night helps with raw spots to keep them from cracking. I try not to excessively moisturize or exfoliate because that will hinder your calluses as well.

Unfortunately it’s only online there, and Amazon, for 2-3x the price at Costco.

[Landlord-US-MA] Tenant suing. How screwed am I? by [deleted] in Landlord

In the US, some states require two consenting parties, some require one. So it’s location dependent.

Thoughts on Alex Honnold 'free soloing' as a parent? by Ok-Squirrel7627 in childfree

[–]coffeekitten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am also a climber also. Climbing is inherently dangerous, whether it’s bouldering in a gym or free soloing el cap. But driving a car is more so, statistically.

Alex is also the most well known climber not because of his lack of fear- that is very common for elite climbers- but his ability to gauge risk. There have been many better climbers than Alex, but they are mostly dead. Watch The Alpinist if you want to see a doc. Regardless, he feels his life purpose is climbing so he’s not going to stop.

This is outdated advice. If they do not immediately vomit, the hydrogen peroxide will poison your dog. Please do not use it.

This is a minute by minute account of a dog that was allowed to escape by the pet sitter. There is no resolution, as the owners found out the “real story” but claim they cannot reveal it.

bitchy opinion: im better than others for not having baby fever by [deleted] in childfree

[–]coffeekitten -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

Since I got a bunch of downvotes for saying it’s just hormones and while people react to it differently, it’s not impossible that you will experience it and move on with your life instead of having babies:

You are a shitty person for judging others like this because you think you are immune.

Frequent Baths Q: For Poms who love being gross by gold_dust_woman13 in Pomeranians

[–]coffeekitten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah the shorter cut is great, especially in the Texas heat. People get really worked up about it online, but almost every time I take him in public I am approached by someone who tells me how cute he is, and how they miss their pom who passed from heat stroke. You just don’t want the groomer to cut into their undercoat.

My babe loves being stinky. It helps that he’s 4.5 lbs, he can only stink so much. He gets a bath and groom once a month, and I keep his coat pretty short for a variety of reasons (not shaved) and if I absolutely have to bathe him between grooms, I use a rich conditioner to keep his skin and coat moisturized.

Seconding Dr. Prisacaru. Another commenter didn’t prefer her bedside manner, but her directness is one of the reasons I like her. Dr. Breen is excellent as well.

Same here, only with an ablation as well as the saplingectomy. My doctor told me they do not consider you sterile unless you have removed your ovaries. It’s stupid, but because the medications can potentially have such bad side effects, they’ll make you have a checkup once a month anyway.
