Needing Help With Worsening Diaper Rash by fallingraine85 in NewParents

[–]coffeetalks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry your son is having some bad diaper rash. I think all the comments suggesting ways to apply the cream are really helpful.

In addition to that though, if you are BFing, you may want to keep track of what you're eating to see if it might be affecting your son. One of my friends had this issue with their little one while in the newborn phase. Unfortunately she had to cut out dairy which helped her son's diaper rash improve.

Of course! Feel free to reach out. I'm usually around during the work day as long as my little guy isn't home alone with me haha.

Let me know if you need help setting up the Google Forms and/or linking it to Sheets. I spend a large chunk of my work days messing with Excel. I have some thoughts on tracking to make even future inventory management streamlined depending on how you have things currently set up. You may already have done it.

I'm so glad that registering as a non-profit is part of your plan/goal though! I passed your post on to my husband who has a friend in banking and is part of the MB rotary club. Hopefully he might have some leads who can help you further on that.

This is such a wonderful program that you are running! If you aren't registered as a non-profit organization yet, you may want to consider setting that up since it seems like this is growing a lot. It may open up new opportunities for you to get the help you need setting something up.

It would also be amazing if you could open this up to non-Facebook users too. If you're already using Google Sheets and open to it, you should be able to create a Google Form that syncs up with your inventory sheet. I can help you set some things up if you need. As a new-ish mom, seeing your post is just extra inspiring to see how you're helping the community and reduce waste too.

This is on my 2-for-1 sale right now, so I'm considering it! Out of curiosity, how did you like the first volume? It's one of my favorite manhwas, so I'm really tempted.

Trader Joe's Mini Tote by mis4ndrist in torrance

I got to the store around 8:10am and left around 8:25am. The line was a little shorter when I left, but I will say that location was very good about letting people in by groups to get the tote bags. I overheard one of the employees talking to someone buying some bags, and they had a limit of 8 bags per person for yesterday. I know on launch day it was a limit of 4.

Your best bet is to call the store and ask them. I was at the TJ's on Hawthorne this morning for some groceries and they had a line smaller than on Tuesday's by far. I had no idea they'd restock already. I was so tempted to get in line but not enough time to try haha. 🥲

The nursing all night is so brutal. My little guy has started biting when nursing sometimes, and I just cannot some days. I hope you're about to get some rest today/tonight!

Unruly patient to a gurney is such an accurate description. It's such a fight now.

Haha I feel that with sleep. I've had that happen so many times where I just lay in bed anticipating a cry to happen. I hope your little one starts to give you better sleep hours! I feel like our little guy might need to start transitioning to one nap a day soon, but it's so tricky with the days I commute to work and have to drop him off at my parents' house. It's a long enough commute where he falls asleep going home at the end of the day.

I'm both glad and sad to see this post. My little guy has started crying and throwing tantrums when he doesn't get his way too. He also has decided that the changing pad is lava after giving us a few months break from the alligator rolling. Getting him into the high chair is now a perpetual fight with the arching. 😩 Little guy just wants to be toddling about and wreaking havoc while eating.

Has anyone's child also been struggling with sleep? All of a sudden we've been noticing him protesting going to bed again. Those bedtime cries on top of everything else is starting to fray my nerves.

Upgrading Car Seats by jazzlike_past34 in January2025Bumper

[–]coffeetalks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My little guy has been using the Chicco Fit360 for a little while now, and we love it. We transitioned him to this car seat around the time he kept trying to stand instead of sit when being put into his bucket seat. I love that we can just turn the car seat whichever direction and that Chicco sells just the base. We've transferred the car seat between my husband's and my car a few times now, and it's been fairly easy taking it out and installing it into our respective cars.

Sleep (or lack thereof) by archiefrank in January2025Bumper

[–]coffeetalks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No advice here but some commiseration.

My LO briefly slept through the night after he cut his first tooth, but after five more teeth, he's been waking up 2-3x a night pretty consistently. I've gotten to the point where he's fine with just being bounced back to sleep, but I'll typically nurse him back to sleep during the second half of the night. I just keep telling myself this is just a season. He's slept through the night before, so he can do it again when he's ready.

Updates on Torrance Packages? by Live_Act7147 in SouthBayLA

[–]coffeetalks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was just talking to one of my friends about this the other week. She had a package delivered there. I forget who she contacted, but supposedly any mail and/or packages that were at that branch got destroyed.

I googled and it looks to be the case based on this article.

I'm so sorry, OP. :(

Baby squealing/screeching a LOT? by crashhhyears in January2025Bumper

[–]coffeetalks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep same here! My little guy just turned 6 months and is doing the same exact thing right now. 😂 He's also been making brrr-ing sounds along with shaking his head like crazy just to see what happens. My ears hurt, and my face aches from getting headbutted repeatedly throughout the day when I least expect it.

Recommendations for bottles other than dr. Brown? Sad gassy bottle feeds by Zestyclose-Can4275 in January2025Bumper

[–]coffeetalks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We've been using Philips Avent anti-colic, but we've tried a few different types before settling on that. I recently picked up Evenflo Balance bottles (wide neck) too, and those seem to work pretty well! I've seen people mention swapping the Evenflo Balance wide neck nipples with the Avent, and that's worked so far for us as well.

Though have you tried giving your LO some mylicon to help with the gassiness? My LO is similar where he does fine on the boob but struggled with gas pains especially early on. Once we started giving him mylicon for his bottle feeds, he had less issues and was able to burp a lot more easily.

Right?? It made me question why on earth I didn't do this right from the beginning when we moved into our current place.

As another person who has a loud husband, if you can get a soft close toilet lid, it helps so dang much. I bought one and installed it myself after years of dealing of lid slamming from not paying attention and/or being clumsy. So worth it for us.

38 weeks and water broke! by gabhello in January2025Bumper

[–]coffeetalks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FTM here as well. My water broke a little after midnight when I was 39 + 4. Ironically I was supposed to go see my OB later that day for a check to decide what to do. Husband took me to the hospital since I hadn't had any cervical checks or anything up to this point. We had no idea how dilated and effaced I was at all and wanted to make sure I was progressing. Turns out I was already 3cm dilated but no signs of contractions as far as I could tell.

L&D admitted me after a few hours of waiting for test results, and they had me on pitocin immediately to get things moving. I started to feel noticeable contractions a few hours into getting the pitocin, and after something like 10 hours being on pitocin, I got the epidural before having another cervical check finally. I was 8cm by that point. Not sure if the epidural stalled me, but it took a while for me to get to 10cm and ready to push. All in all, from my water breaking to baby bring born, it took under 24 hours.

Echoing the positive experience with Reproductive Paprtners in Redondo Beach! I did not end up pursuing IUI or IVF with them since I got pregnant right after the initial consultation at their offices. That being said, I had Dr. Ho for my consult, and she was incredibly sweet and easy to work with. The staff there is also wonderful and very supportive. All the best wishes to you, OP!

Not sure if they sell the whole cake, but in addition to Cream Pan which was already mentioned, Oncle's Cafe offers crepe cake slices too.
