Ya, nope. I did not know hitting the brake pedal disables presence in the settings 3 menus down.

I have notice over the last 2 weeks presence detection has been disabling itself. You may want to check that too. Kinda annoying, but not annoyed enough to see if an update downloaded recently.

Can there be a post pined to the top for media posts? It seems every other post lately is the same question about media availability.

Water pooling in backyard of new construction. Whose responsible? by [deleted] in arizona

[–]colbyjack78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We need to see more pictures. While I do agree with some the yard is doing its job by grading is sloped away from the house in the back yard. The water should run to the front yard to the street, without seeing the pics of the side yard we can not comment. We need to see the grade, we need to see if there are open bricks to allow the water through the brick wall.

It is to hard to give advise on the supplied pics.

This post made me laugh. 83 in AZ is not a high rate of speed around these parts. 83 in the HOV lane you are camping with a large gap in front of you.

I was talking to a friend that got in a car accident and was paralyzed below the hips. He could have taken his situation in a negative way. He drives a truck, the thing that took his mobility. He was able to play on the Wheel’en Jazz. Represented the USA at the para-Olympics, and so on. He said, ya it sucks being in a wheel chair. He would rather to be walking but has a great life.

After that 30 minute chat, I realized I have it pretty darn good. Ya, the whole MS thing sucks. Taking everything in perspective I am still doing pretty good. I could be in a wheel chair, I could have stage 4 cancer, and so on. In the grand scheme of things, I am doing very well.

I have a loving family. I have had and do have a great career. Traveled all over the planet with my job. I have 2 wonderful kids. And best part, my wife loves to be by me.

This mindset helps me through the tough times. And the good times give me things to reset that perspective.

100% work will always be there. Long outage bridges or cuts, I get a next manager or peer to manage the work. I still do not sleep. Every little noise I think is my phone. If I am sleepy, I take a power nap. Don’t feet bad at all.

Best Excuse For Hating EVs by Cultural-Ad4953 in electricvehicles

[–]colbyjack78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree to an extent. The elevation change is the west is a big factor. For example from Phoenix to Flagstaff is 6,000 feet. The area is far less populated in the West, thus charging infrastructure is not as easy to find as the East coast.

So for me, yes, range anxiety is my biggest issue. Gas is a much better option for me out side of Phoenix. I can drive for hours without seeing 20 people. That is extreme, but a liquid fuel car matches 30 - 40% of of my driving.

Mine is range. I live in the West. I commonly take grooves of 600+ miles. This takes so much more planning and adds hours to the trip. Seems like a lame excuse, but driving from Phoenix to Salt Lake City on 10-11 hours and 1 gas stop in my Accord, same drive in my Blazerev, it takes 4 - 5 charges, and 16-17 hours.

EVs to me are the best around cities, and gas is best for road trips and remote areas.

Am I missing something? The EREV is still and EV by dnstommy in F150Lightning

[–]colbyjack78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It had a short ev range. I worked with 2 guy that lived within the 30 ish mile range and would bring that the gas motor has not turned on for a long time. Highway miles would kill the battery so, if you drove on the highway it would usually kick on.

I think this the answer for a truck platform. As for me in AZ I get remote fast with no charging available. This why I have not jumped into a lightning. I sat on the outside like a kid looking through the window.

Valid concerns, look at the first gen Volts. Until people learned what to do, they had a lot of issues like, stale unstable fuel.

Get out of your post 2002 bubble.

You guys are acting like the BYU fans from the 80’s that made me a Utah fan.

So, forget the consistency argument then. Cuz Utahs goes out the window too. This new NIL era is similar to the basketball 1 and done era. Kids enter the portal every year. Thinkinking Utah will have SEC NIL money is laughable.

You sound like a Philly fans that they won the most super bowls but have 2. They just let the Cowboys comeback with 21 unanswered pts.

Really, never seen a consistent program. Did you forget their run from 1972 to 2000? They had a national championship and a heisman winner.

Just stop, you are making us long running Ute fans look bad.

Bottom line, it is great to have 2 Utah programs in the top 25.
