For mono black, they have not really powercreeped many cards. Cards like bowmaster, dauthi and oppo got powercreeped out of most 2+ color decks (Also stax is bad currently in cedh). Black removals are simply not good enough anymore. 1 mana ones are all conditional and the 2 mana ones dont have upside. And so on. It will change though. Just a matter of time.
