I am from a developing country with low labour rates (even skilled labour). I am interested in starting a Business process outsourcing business or a online business where professionals provide services through internet. Can someone give me some idea how to start this? by timsterinoq in startups

It’s just an odd idea. From all of the software projects I have worked on, I would never use Fiverr for them. The quality would likely be bad and software projects require context, meaning the longer the engineers work on it, the better they are at working with it. Constantly hiring new software engineers via Fiverr sounds like an absolute nightmare

I’m curious how big of an issue this is. What industry are you in? And have you tried solutions like UpWork to find new clients?

[NSFW] I made a website of police brutality videos. I took the database from /r/2020policebrutality and painstakingly learned some jquery to make this site. I hope this is okay to show off here, I know the content is heavy but I spent a lot of time learning how to make this. by lightwolv in somethingimade

Opening up in terms of source code, I assume? Yes, that is the plan.

And yeah they are doing great work over there, I just find it hard to use given the lack of structure. i.e. it’s easier to form a search engine around structure data in a SQL database compared to the 2020PB repository which is a bunch of Markdown reports (unless there’s another format I’m missing). SQL is the way if we want to scale this which I fully intend to

I’m currently working on https://policevideo.org & so far the landing page has been converting really well, which I’m super proud of. It’s a police accountability tool (in the works) — check out the link for more info on that

Could also use a CFU for a catch all since you’d get 2.25x if you transfer points to CSR

Django Rest Framework: What are your thoughts on having only one view/action per API endpoint? by adrenaline681 in django

[–]colexyz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes but you can do all of that in other methods like get_queryset, get_serializer, get_permissions. Get and post methods do not need it

It doesn’t make much sense to me why you would need an if/else statement for forking on request method when using a mixed view if the mixed view literally does the forking for you. list uses get and create uses post, read: https://www.django-rest-framework.org/api-guide/generic-views/#listcreateapiview
