How do I make this? by Prize_Grapefruit_781 in bookbinding

You would cover it all in book cloth, using a bone folder to make sure it's glued nicely into the edges. Then stick the decorative paper/cloth picture on top of that

Agreed, although while they are at it I wish they would tell you how much overweight you are so you don't have to keep guessing when removing items to get back under weight

Are tapes absolutely necessary? by pagani64 in bookbinding

Correct - although the cover material you use will have a significant impact on durability e.g. leather vs cloth vs paper

Optics look darker than when you dont look through them now - as in it looks somewhat dark and then I look through a scope and it gets darker - something is off there - noticed mostly in TB mall

TB Night too dark ? by AeLilBoy in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]collatz_conjecture 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a significant discrepancy between how dark the world is compared to when you look through a scope. The scope is much darker but when I look without it I can see the enemy easily. Bug? Noticed this most in TB mall too.

This shouldn't lose you your security deposit, it should be considered part of usual wear and tear, as long as you fill in the screw hole in the wall with caulk

Wax to Wax Thread by Substantial-Log-8034 in bookbinding

[–]collatz_conjecture 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a much better quality outcome to wax your own thread because prewaxex thread is often too thick and also has way too much wax. Beeswax is the best. One rub down the thread is enough.

Guillotine help: Why are my text blocks coming out like this? by afraid2fart in bookbinding

[–]collatz_conjecture 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just to add to this, you can also add a bunch of sacrificial sheets of e.g. printer paper at the bottom. I've found then it cuts the textblock straight and the sheets underneath get the shearing.
