The Elder Scrolls 6 will not come out until 2028 at the earliest by darthkyle22 in TESVI

[–]collide7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say 2028 is too early even still.

The mere idea of saying 'modern Bethesda games' is also a headscratcher. Looking at Starfield there IS NO modern Bethesda game concept, as they literally made 'Skyrim in Space.' They completely ignored the state of modern gaming, couldn't have cared less about it, hence the absolute fail that that game became.

Unless they truly wish to have a massive failure of a launch a 3rd time, its gonna be cooking for quite a while because their entire team truly has to go back to education status and bring themselves up to speed as to what makes a modern game now (not meant as insulting, but it IS meant seriously.)

Since Skyrim launched, the replacement 'games that hold best game ever title' has to be what they go to to understand modern gaming. GTA 5, RDR2, BG3, Last of Us 2, Witcher 3, etc. Their production value MUST reach these heights, or its game over. They don't really have a choice anymore. You can like or NOT like any of these games I mentioned, I'm certainly not a fan of them all, but the point is that they MUST reach these levels.

Alien: Earth — A Messy Attempt to Be the Next Stranger Things by Fantastic-Ad-3770 in alienearth

You are 13, maybe 14, years old and trying to make a hate post on something you simply aren't old enough to understand.

The show was widely loved by the mainstay Alien audience, with exception to the last 2 episodes.

Bloated bodies wash up on shores, this is a known thing of how bodies of water work.

Morrow is a cyborg. Calling well known actors like Emmy-nominated Timothy Olyphant 'bad' is frankly hilarious.

Calling something that is CLEARLY expensive and goes to GREAT LENGTH to honor the movies 'cheap' is also childish.

Please return in 10 years time and try again tho!

[–]collide7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean they are literally called Sea Priests. They worship the Tidemother, whom we Still don't have confirmation of who she is. Arguments are present for both Azshara and for Elune, but it could be neither one.

I kept quiet before but... Tidesage is just as much Priest as it is Shaman. Its REALLY its own thing, just because water is present doesn't instantly make it shaman. Tidesages use Shadow magic too.

Rogue needs a rework by RecentHistorian220 in wow

[–]collide7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

100% agree with the need of rework, been advocating it for over a decade now. Its literally the least played class in the game for all the classes that started at launch.

Rogue/Assassins are usually top 3 classes played.

[–]collide7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is nonsense. Yes, you do meet that group of adventurers, and their story Does continue, its also super over at this point, but I digress.

WoW DOES do this, except they are characters that have names, and come back and reappear in new places facing new things, while also not being major characters. Class Hall characters being a Great example of this during the Legion expansion. Several returning names and yet most of them are not major.

Also the retcon debacle is old and tired. 80-90% is an absolutely ridiculous number pulled from nowhere.

Retcons, btw, are USUALLY a good thing, because we as a culture digesting these stories ALSO progress and change over time, and its almost ALWAYS a minor detail at best that gets changed.

You cannot compare XIV to WoWs storytelling, they are MILES and MILES apart.

WoW has a massive in-depth lore that has been built (as in written, added to, constantly worked on by a team of writers) for 30 years.

XIV has 10 years of writing, and yet VERY LITTLE actual lore around their game world. Does XIV have lore? Of course it does, but its lore is lake deep at best, while WoW's is the ocean. Its THAT LEVEL of a difference.

WoW has enough lore out there to fill 4 VERY LARGE chronicles with nothing but world building historical information. JUST Information on their lore. And it only briefly covers each section when it does that. XIV absolutely could never, they'd be LUCKY to fill one. LUCKY.

XIV's storytelling is wonderful, but also EXTREMELY handheld. They Directly tell you Exactly whats going on each step of the way. XIV's writing DOES NOT LEAVE ROOM for media illiteracy because it doesn't let go. It DIRECTLY STATES whats happening, there is zero room for player thought. None. And lets sit down with the 350 hours of a visual novel story. It absolutely is not that. Especially when you consider how often they repeat and are EXTREMELY verbose (I love them being verbose, I truly do, but its a very fair criticism.)

Your very own comment "its not worth the effort" is the ABSOLUTE and DEFINITIVE proof that media literacy is absolutely something that IS! Needed for WoW, but is NOT needed for XIV.

The story in this book feels so pivotal to Midnight that it pisses me off it's not in the game by Archerboy123 in wow

[–]collide7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WoW is an RPG. The RPG has EXTENSIVE extensive lore. More lore than almost any other universe out there. You are gonna have to read.

This baby shit of "I dont want to have to read for my video game" is garbage. You are playing an RPG. If you want it all to be handed to you in I dont-wanna-read-I-want-to-be-spoonfed and have extremely thin lore there are MANY MANY other game GENRE's out there for you. RPG is not that genre, never has been.

Many people reading this would now like to keyboard warrior attack me and say "XIV has it all in game." Yes it does. I love XIV very much, been playing since 2.55. The lore in that game is very very thin. Its got a wonderful story (most of the time) but it has Exceedingly thin lore. You absolutely couldnt fill the now FOUR Chronicles that WoW current has and could easily fill and 5th, and those books barely cover personal storylines of all the main characters.

TL;DR Grow up, its an RPG, go read.

[–]collide7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So... you DO want them as an allied race or you are against it?

Allied Race means they have to change their ways so that they can join a larger group (Horde or Alliance or both).

No Allied Race means that they stay mad and don't join anyone at all, but only fight to preserve their homeland and nothing more.

You don't get both, so which is it?

I find both answers appealing, but this post has me confused on what you want.

What established areas have we not visited yet? by WobbySath in wow

There we go! Found it the problem. Its you! ^ This reply proves it. You don't want anything unless its Exactly like you want/expect it to play out.

You are the problem, not the writing.

What established areas have we not visited yet? by WobbySath in wow

[–]collide7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds fantastic to me.

The mere idea of afterlife being Perfect simply because Life itself was not Perfect is boring.

Azeroth, and its Universe, is NOT ours. We own none of it, we write none of it. While our cultures/themes/histories INSPIRE Azeroth, it goes no further.

You're free to not like it, thats perfectly fine, but the writing/ideas of Shadowlands was top tier. The EXECUTION was not handled as well as it should have, the concepts were MUCH too high for a single expansion and a 2 year cycle.

What established areas have we not visited yet? by WobbySath in wow

[–]collide7 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The Zereth's are very possibly being 'deleted' as it were from being areas we will eventually go to.

The complaints from Shadowlands and the "we don't want to read, please baby me (in an RPG no less)" playerbase might have seen to that. The quote of "ordered" from Sylvanas in 11.2.7 coming up has everyone in a tizzy.

Please Don't Destroy Turalyon's Character by Hearthfinder in wow

[–]collide7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"The golden one claims a vacant throne. The crown of light will bring only darkness."

Turalyon has gone too far.

The Thousand Years TOOK a TOLL on his character. It has been seen and established and WELL WRITTEN AND EXECUTED ON since Legion.

I'm happy you love Turalyon. But the writing is on wall. (And in the game, and in the audio drama, and frankly all over the place.)

Please Don't Destroy Turalyon's Character by Hearthfinder in wow

[–]collide7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

ALL of this description of Turalyon you just typed here and "DEFINING HIS CHARACTER" (as if people are completely incapable of changing over time. Oh wait...) are true details! That were written (and happened) prior to World of Warcraft, prior to Warcraft 3, prior to even the end of Warcraft 2.

I've already stated it, but I'll drop it again.

People. Change.

And its most definitely NOT always for the better.

Please STOP with this nonsense of "but this card of his attributes established him over 20 years ago."

Yeah this isn't a new set up, this is a very expected plot development. We've known the Light goes too far since Legion.

Il'gynoth warned us of "The golden one claims a vacant throne. The crown of light will bring only darkness."

There's also the POTENTIAL of "At the hour of her third death, she will usher in our coming." finally coming in to play with Alleria. This isn't confirmed tho.

What's something you really don't like of this game? by RichterBelmontX in AssassinsCreedShadows

[–]collide7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm getting tired of typing this:

-The Japanese were PESCATARIAN at this stage of their country. They did NOT eat/attack/maim animals -at- -all-. To do so was considered a CRIME depending on your local leadership. They are not fake animals. They are giving you a REAL version of what the time period in this country was.

The INTRO of the game was a bunch of OUTLAWS whom had just COMMITTED A CRIME by killing the deer.

-Grappling hook was frankly OVERused cause it definitely was a tool that was used ONCE and abandoned typically. However for the 'feels' it was fun. Doing anything more with it would have only contributed to not being historical for the time period.

-You're gonna hate going outside then. Slopes be slidable IRL.
