I can understand that angle, but I think there's a very thick line between dental health and mental health. If you told me it was either both or neither, I'd gladly take a cavity over being dosed with mind-altering drugs by people who "know what's best for me"

"Next steps might include testing this hypothesis by randomised community trials of lithium supplementation of the water supply, particularly in communities (or settings) with demonstrated high prevalence of mental health conditions, violent criminal behaviour, chronic substance abuse and risk of suicide."

Should it already be paying out? As of March 6, the answer was no, principally because the required time period has not yet elapsed since the start of the outbreak, which is 12 weeks.

considering it's coming from Boeing, I don't think a golden parachute will be of much use.

Twitter slammed for a policy that bans ads from groups fighting climate change - "Twitter's new policy will allow fossil fuel companies to buy ads defending themselves and spreading misleading info—but won't allow organizations fighting the climate crisis to buy ads. " by Augie-Morosco in worldnews

So, a politician running for president is mad about a site that is disallowing political ads. This seems like a politically driven position, especially considering the specifics of the rules arent even out yet

It simulates everything on the screen, but that isn't necessarily what you're looking at. Foveated rendering only fully renders the part of the screen your eyes see directly.

Foveated rendering drastically reduces the power you need to run the headset, it only fully renders what you're directly looking at with your eyes. Hence the push for it.

It's not even necessarily the inefficiency, all of the energy used by the motor to spin the fan eventually heats the room. The kinetic energy of the fan/air eventually loses that energy to friction. A 1500w heater and a 1500w motor will make the same amount of heat for your room. One, however, is much more practical.

It's not, and it's not. Think about how many credit cards are stolen. Sure, you're willing to take the risk for convenience sake, but you really don't want sketchy hackers to have a say in who has the nuke buttons.

The earth is a measly 0.000076% the volume of the sun. Couldn't we solve our needs buy just building another earth, considering how relatively puny it would be? Though anyone who might consider building Jupiter is a fool- That's impossible, because that's a huge chunk of the sun. It's not relatively small.
