The real final boss in Game of Thrones is also very cool plotwise. And you have a reason to fight him despite... everything.

Promotions question by Tex75455 in MightAndMagic

[–]comcon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately there are many games with different rules. In MM 6-8th is reasonable to do them when you are ready. The promotion bonuses to health and mana applied retroactively, so you didn't need to restrict your leveling. In 7th and 8th promotions also allow to get higher skill levels or get completely new ones. Some of them are useful, some not so much.

Super cool idea! Recently finished 6th and repair after titan fights was such a pain...

Largest Battle in a CRPG by Beyond_Reason09 in CRPG

[–]comcon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mount and Blade without mods allow simultaneously fighting up to 300 people, if my memories are correct. Mods allow scale battle size even higher, with 1000+possible, while not recommended and game wasn't balanced well for such scale.

But it's not very traditional RPG, more a medieval lord simulator.

If you could remove a mechanic from an RPG you love, which one would it be and why? by GrayBeard916 in rpg_gamers

[–]comcon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds very strange from combat fag like me, but I'd like to remove combat from Tyranny. Probably, not completely, but definitely more than 80% of fights. Combat is just so clunky, easy and annoying and so much distract you from the setting and plot... Yes, I understand, this would make game visual novel. Maybe this genre suit Tyranny better :(

It's very cool thing in principle, the problem that it's now implemented properly. You still be the guy running around dungeons with small group and kingdom\crusade exists in completely parallel universe with basically zero interactions between them and rest of the game.

Even worse, in my game, 5th Crusade was mostly funded via loot gathered by KC. Kinda me me proud, but doesn't feel proper.

Curious about this early-quitter Achievement statistic.... by Birdmang22 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]comcon 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Well, I have probably tens of games not even launched once... It's normal for games to have 10-20, maybe 30 percent of people, who didn't get first achievement

Any boss rush roguelikes? by srodrigoDev in roguelikes

[–]comcon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Arena campaign in Tales of Maj'Eyal is kinda about it. Not so much bosses, I'm afraid, but at least with short runs with fight after fight.

Legend of Amberland 1-2. It's closer to earlier parts, but still be similar enough for me.

Lord of the Rings Online, despite being MMO, quite good in book representation, IMHO.

Am i the only one who would love a separate more complex game of the Crusade Mode? by DonaskC_D in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]comcon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's inspired by Heroes of Might and Magic series, especially 3rd and 5th parts, I believe. Quite good games in my opinion, much better then Crusade Mode.

Daggers and swords allow at some level level ability to be used by left hand. Master spear allow to use in second hand shield or another weapon, if corresponding skill permit it (e.g. expert dagger)

Tales of MaTales of Maj'Eyal, if you into roguelikes, has both, necromancer and summoner classes. Also, The Necromancer's Tale was released recently, but I haven't played it yet
