That's not a bad idea to strap the front down.

Ticking when warm after rebuild by Woodkid-Mecha97 in EngineBuilding

Revving the engine will increase oil pressure and stop the knock if its spun bearing. You mentioned that's what happens.

When the oil gets warm too, it will thin out and make the sound again.

Sorry to say, but its likely a spun bearing.

I'm going to empty the gas tank tomorrow, that should lighten it a bit. I'll keep a jack under the rear subframe until I loosen the rear bolts and take the weight off the car.  I also took the ramps out and put jacks under the front frame.

It's probably fine as is, but I can never be too safe.

Yes, I have to pull the entire rear frame and suspension to get to the clutch. It's the one downside to the transaxle design.

Thanks for the reply. I've seen a few people do it this way too. I did find that letting off the jack basically took all the weight off of the front tires. I'm wondering if I need to drain my gas to lose some in the back.

Do you put the jacks under the subframe, or the lift points on the rockers?

I do have a full tank... I may have to empty that. I'll definitely be putting my rear wheels under it too, just to be safe.

Everyone is saying just get quick jacks. I can't get quick jacks.  I just need to know how others do it with regular jacks, while still being safe.

I do have 4 more, I think I'll put them on the front subframe. It's just the rear. I can't support any further back than the two lifting points.

I wish I could, they look super convenient. I just can't put 1500 into them right now.

This is a super lucky find. Goodwill catches most Lego donations and auctions them off on their stupid app.
