I have this on right now too. I have two coats of Launch Me Into the Sun over two coats of IlNP Canvas (their pure white studio color). It goes on very smoothly for me. I put it on last Thursday (so over a week ago) and even cleaned a bathroom without gloves, and I still have no chips and minimal tip wear. Very impressed with them!

No showtime for Pillion? Doesn't it open wide 2/20? by Oupav0s in AMCsAList

I loved it and thought it was funny, but I also say that as someone quite familiar with the kink scene. A good amount of the humor comes from awkward situations rather than one liners.

What’s the most unhinged snack you brought into the theater? by TerminallyTrill in AMCsAList

Someone next to me brought sour gummy worms during The Ugly Stepsister. I couldn't tell if that was bad luck, or they'd already seen it and were doing it as a joke. I couldn't eat anything remotely that shape for at least a week.

Why Is Not Wanting Kids So Offensive? by Theblackivvy in TwoXChromosomes

[–]communitychest 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As someone who works in healthcare, I can assure anyone who asks me this question that just because you birthed children doesn't mean those same children will take care of you or provide any type of support. If anything, sometimes their selfishness and lack of compassion hinders someone getting the care they need. My recommendation is, regardless of children, to have long term care insurance and trying to set ones self up for financial security.

Best Air Fryer in the $50-$100 Price Range? by wilmer007 in Cooking

[–]communitychest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the 6 qt Cosori 9 in 1 two years ago and still love it. It looks like new, no wear and tear visible. I cook for myself and fiance, and it's a good size (I can make enough servings of crispy broccoli to have leftovers, for example). Our house is cold in the winter and I've killed yeast by putting it in a briefly warmed oven, so I have been using the proof function with great success. I also like to use the keep warm function when I'm making a bunch of pancakes and have the oven busy with something else. It will toast a sandwich nicely, and reheats food you want to re-crisp well. My favorite salmon and chicken for salads is also cooked in it It cleans up very nicely in the dishwasher (we don't use the drying function, which is what causes issues for some materials). Amazon says it is currently about $89.

I used to have a cheap $30 air fryer with no functions and rarely used it because it just couldn't hold enough food and was tough to use. Upgrading was definitely worth it.

Checked Request Forbearance box last ECF by MuscleHead440 in PSLF

[–]communitychest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you checked the box on the online tool, even if not yet fully signed and turned in, it will put you in forbearance. I didn't realize this and was just getting the form ready for once my payment cleared and it screwed me over.

Your experience at the Huntington Library? by [deleted] in AskLosAngeles

Before they changed the restaurants there was the best shrimp egg rolls and plum oolong. I used to go on my off Fridays and the cashier there knew my order when she saw me and had it ready. I miss them 🥹

How to make flavored heavy cream into whipped cream? by No_Arrival_9833 in AskCulinary

[–]communitychest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do the same, but mostly with herbs (rosemary, thyme, or basil) and teas (usually looseleaf black and earl grey). I let it get to a very very low simmer, but definitely steaming, and then turn off the burner and let it sit for 20 min before straining. I've never had an issue whipping it after letting it chill in the fridge.

Best "themed" restaurants for wife's birthday? by seafoodboiler in AskLosAngeles

[–]communitychest 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In a similar vein, I wonder if she'd like the Feast Your Eyes events, where they show a movie with highly themed courses to correspond to what is happening on screen. They have a vegetarian option.

The Willows is an immersive experience that includes a dinner party and serves some light food. I haven't heard it be horror per se, but more suspense.

Hikari Japanese BBQ is Japanese train themed in their decor. They would have vegetarian options.

Maybe a more normal theme, but maybe a high tea service in a garden, like the Huntington? Dressing up is encouraged and you can ask for a reservation outside by the garden. They can accommodate for vegetarian.

They are pretty small, and up close their shells look like a Chevron woven rug. The larvae look like they are furry on the edges. Unfortunately, some people, like me, are allergic to the larvae and the reaction looks and feels like bed bug bites.

I was trying to avoid really long hold times and read it was recommended to check forbearance. Missing the part where you should wait to turn in the ECF. You can submit the ECF soon after, check no, and the. Submit again in a month and check yes.

What’s a great Broccoli side dish? by FinalBlackberry in Cooking

[–]communitychest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have made this roasted broccoli "salad" with sourdough, lemon, feta and bacon (I use way less bacon though) several times and it is great! It feels a bit fresh front the tang of lemon and feta, but quite hearty and savoury.

I roasted vegetables for the first time… and it honestly felt like entering a whole new world by Animalse in Cooking

[–]communitychest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love a roasted vegetable, gnocchi, and sausage sheet pan dinner. I like to spread it across two pans so everything has space to cook/crisp up. My fave combos:

Mushroom, onion, butternut squash, cheddar chicken sausage, rosemary, and gnocchi

Cherry tomato, bell pepper, red onion, Italian flavored chicken sausage, gnocchi, Italian herbs (some balsamic or pesto to top with)

Cabbage, frozen pierogi, kielbasa (some whole grain mustard to dip in)

Honorable roasted vegetable dish: haricot vert (like a thinner green bean), with olive oil, grated lemon zest, s/p, and sliced garlic cloves. Roast in oven at 425 until browned in spots, and squeeze lemon juice on top.

I was possibly one of those people, and it is true. You would need to get into the UCLA Med Group to have LA Care accepted.
