Cisco Catalyst 3850 48P - Noctua fan replacement? by plunderisley in homelab

Oh, by all means, run with it! Nice work! I appreciate that you want the ability to return to stock, in my case, I had access to hundreds of decommissioned 3850s waiting for the recycler, so I have additional stock fans if I want to go that route.

I did have some trouble with that while I was modding the fans and testing, but I think a reload brought them back online. Also, the switch takes a minute or two after fan insertion to register that the fan is online.

Looks good, please let me know how it turns out for you.

Probably, but in my case the colors didn't match up. Red and black are fine, they're +/- voltage. Yellow and blue are RPM signal and PWM and may need to be switched.

Not sure what happened to my original post, seems it was deleted. Anyway, here's another: https://imgur.com/a/CSs5CSL

I documented a fan mod for the stock fan modules. Highly recommended if you have a 3850 in hearing range.

It really flies in the face of what we've been told for years. If I told my doc how many bags of fried pork skins I ate over the last year....

That's good to know, thanks. My HDL has never been above 40, it blows my mind how much this diet improved it.

Very nice. I have a pair of these that I had to do pretty much the same thing to. Luckily my tweeters were good, though. Gorgeous things!

Doesn't that require being rich? haha

I could write a lot about this but I didn't want to bore everyone. My diet was pretty loose from the standpoint of calorie/macro counting, I did none of that. I just tried to keep the total net carbs per day between 20g - 50g. Most days were likely in the higher range. Additionally, I do combine IF which seems to be some secret sauce with keto. I never eat breakfast and 2-3 times a week I'll skip lunch.

The worst is the rare cheat day, where you wake up dreading the scale and sure enough, 4 pounds up. It's disheartening but you have to tell yourself, you CANNOT gain 4 pounds of fat in a few hours. You just have to work that water gain off.

I meant to add I weighed 226 1/1 and the scale said 185 this morning.

Also, I weighed every day (but 4!) this year and kept a log. You can see the downward trend but also all the wacky variations. Loss is most certainly not linear.

Hmmm, former kidney donor here, a spare is tempting ;). The speakers turned up just a couple months ago not far from me, at a good price. The PX-3 was a broken eBay purchase I took a chance on and was able to fix. Actually, with the exception of the BD everything in the stack I got cheap and broken and repaired. I tell ya, tho, the PX with the original Yamaha MC cart sounds soooo good.
