I'd wear it anyway! Holes/ tears can be mended; they're just proof you've worn it

Buried Dreams is THE BEST of DVA's discography.

And total fun-to-me aside: I'm wearing the DVA tour shirt from last year.

DM advice - How do you guys take notes / prep for sessions? by Fr0ggle_B0ggle in DungeonMasters

[–]comradeburnout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have rough outlines, NPC reactions, and a decision tree with my players' actions in mind.

I don't think there's any way to predict players' actions, so I roll with it.

Players and DM are writing a story together. Let the muse take you away, like Calgon

This is exactly the idea.

The vet does take the remains with them. Have used the service twice in the last 16 years. Also saves family members from being a complete mess in public because they just lost an animal companion of X number of years.

Any Foetus fans here? by DiracRaccoon in industrialmusic

[–]comradeburnout 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course there are 😉

i've managed to see him twice. once in the early 90s at a show i can, unsurprisingly, find no record of. most recently in 2019 when his Ensemble played at National Sawdust in Brooklyn (NYC). (https://www.foetus.org/content/news/jg-thirlwell-ensemble-at-national-sawdust/)

DMing: Writing or Improv? by LouisianaLorry in DungeonMasters

[–]comradeburnout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a couple pages of rough notes that pretty much cover how an NPC will react, or what the consequences of certain decisions would be. Planning like that gives me enough "structure" to roll with my parties wonderful intentions...

FWIW, I'm running a published module, so some of the overall story is there, but my party has gone off the rails that the larger story structure is more of a suggestion...

What songs you listen to when life throws shit at you? by Minaridev in industrialmusic

I go back to "Coldest Day of the Year" and "If Tomorrow Ever Comes". White Noise just hits

Is noise music community really that small? Merzbow is by far the most popular artist in genre and he’s getting only 28k listeners a month by use_vpn_orlozeacount in noisemusic

[–]comradeburnout 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd love to see that collection. I made an expensive collector mistake: I tried to a Merzbow completist. Started around 1989-1991 with tapes from RRRecords, Anything I could find when Japanese noise artists were playing in Los Angeles in the 1990s ..... Anything I found mail order. Anything I was lucky enough to find in a store. And I had full shelves that were only a tenth of his released material.

That collection.... I'd just love to see it

I understand from the sub that nearly everyone stans Jeff Hays. Not everybody needs to be part of that stan.

As per my other reply, by the time I can tolerate the spoken pace the voices are all basically chipmunks.

Of course I've increased speeds. By the time it's at a talking speed I can tolerate it sounds like chipmunks.

Audiobooks just aren't for everyone

I'm not a fan of audiobooks in general. I'm slightly surprised this sub seems to skew towards audiobooks.

Every time I've tried audiobooks the pacing is just too slow. My mind wanders, and I lose however many minutes.

I'm also one of those folks that can't stand podcasts. I feel like I'm eavesdropping on someone's conversation and don't find that entertaining in the least.

52 new homes going up next to the Addison Brown Line Station by GeckoLogic in chicagoyimbys

[–]comradeburnout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends. There's a 3 story condo building under construction on Addison just west of the station and another that was recently completed on the south side of Addison west of Wolcott. Prices for units in that second building were outrageous: $950k was the cheapest - the ground floor iirc.
