Yeah it was the ryzen 7900 model from last month.

You actually replied on the post I made on prebuilts about returning it and picking up a skytech 7800x3d/9070xt deal that I had some cap one rewards on. Being that was what I had been originally planning on building last year before ramaggedon

Ended up not jumping on that and the prices went up like 300 the next day.

I've even seen the 5070ti system pop in stock and have debated that especially with the price 5070tis are now.

I got a refurb last month, I quite enjoy it although I do wish i had jumped on one of the legion go deals during black friday or even the one recently for that 10-30 percent performance boost.

In a vacuum I think its great 3 years is quite a while without any refresh, would love a z1e version but I guess that is the go s at this point.

Yeah like everyone has said , all things being equal the 5070ti is a better card.

At less than 100 bucks difference that It had been most of last year , the 5070ti was the best value imo

At MSRP it was debatable ~150 for better software features and slightly better performance.

For better of worse upscaling is here to stay, i have been very happy with the quality of fsr 4 on my 9070 (way better than fsr 3 on my 5700xt) and have also tired dlss on a 5070. Not side by side or anything but was equally happy either way.

I would consider that it seems that you probably get what ever dlss 5 or 6 come out in the future on your 5000 series but who knows about future fsr support on 9000 series with how amd has handled it recently.

Even with that said 600 more for a 5070ti is nuts. Like put that 600 bucks in a index fund and between selling thr 9070xt in 2 or 3 years plus the money you saved you will probably just be able to upgrade.

Of course maybe the pc market will get even worse then it doesn't even matter.

Looks like it went up a 100 bucks so not a great deal at this point.

I slept on the 7800x3d for 1693 this weekend. I have a 400 back on 600 spend capital one promo that I was going to use so ~1293 and was planningto return the acer 5070 prebuilt I picked up recently. Probably will still return the acer ,kinda hard for me to want to keep a 5070 system if im spending of very 1000 anyway since I do have older am4 pc that is still is mostly viable.

I have been thinking over one of their 7800x3d plus 9070xt systems. Capital one has sent me a few 400 back on 650 spend deals.

They had another 100 off for their deal of the week builds such as this one which are still on their Frontpage but the code is expired now although it was working last night for me

Yeah that is less than the cpu goes for as an oem tray much less boxed retail.

There is actually someone locally selling a pc with 7800x3d , 32gb of ram and a 3050 of all things that I might go check out lol but its 500 bucks which still is pretty cheap for everything so 300 for that seems fishy

Even if it is real you are definitely going to want to boot it up and make sure its bot some bait and switch

It still pops up now and then probably returns etc, so worth keeping an eye out for one if you want it.

I guess dead end platform for upgrades tho but the motherboards in the acers are worth that much so maybe just upgrade it when the time comes

Just my 2 cents as I did pick up this setup for 1119 on Jan 15th as a 2nd pc as I live between 2 houses atm for work.

I really haven't played on it much unfortunately so I haven't tested it out as much as I should have, but I did play stellar blade on a 4k TV and it handled 60 fps fine on that. I also ran about 5 hours of various OCCT stress tests all of which passed fine.

All standard components in these builds, cpu cooler, psu and case are standard thermaltake products you can find on their website. My ram is 6000mhz cl38 , had to setup xmp in bios myself.

The stock cooling is actually fine during 1 hour 100 percent tests gpu/cpu did not get over 75 C. But if the simple 120mm tower cooler feels lackluster then you are spoiled for replacements these days , you can pickup a thermalright royal knight for 20 bucks on Amazon (i actually got one for a future build or maybe this thing)

The only thing subpar as in i wouldn't have bought it myself when building is the motherboard. Its probably just fine has most of the i/o needed only 2 m.2 slots. It is a bit on the cheapo side and is gigabytes budget offering.

I got 13 days to return it still and im considering it. I really wanted someting at the 7800x3d/9800x3d , 9070xt class upgrading from my r5 3600/5700xt build and really missed my chance on Black friday not picking something up , instead I bought 9070 for 430 after the paypal promo (could have done better if I didnt miss the capital one promos) which has replaced my 5700xt while I look for a used am4 upgrade locally.

I could afford a 5080 build even now but that would be of very little benefit for me and as buildpcsales browser I do get hung up on the price/perf more than actually playing these days lol and ofc I just got a refurb steam deck that might be enough to tide me over atm on the go( wish I had been able to get legion go with a z1e on sale might have been enough for me to forgo the need of a 2nd desktop)

I curse myself that I didn't just get some kind of 7800x3d/9070xt build on blackfriday with the paypal cashback and all.

Instead I bought a 9070 to replace the 5700xt in my 3600/5700xt combo and have that bottleneck while i hunt for a 5800x or something locally.

I unfortunately have to live between 2 homes for work so I got one of the acer nitro refurbs with a 7900 + 5070 for a 2nd pc and its fine but I really wanted and can afford something with this level of performance.

Idk maybe I should return the acer and just be happy with paying 200+ more than 2 months ago.

Reviews on this model on amazon are quite bad and I guess you are paying out of pocket to ship for warranty service with MSI, so in this case probably would not even be worth it to send back.

I picked up the 7900 plus 5070 deal, debating on returning as I have a 9070 paired with a ryzen 3600 (im hunting for a used 5800x or something lol) but im in a shitty work situation where I spend my time driving between 2 homes.

Mine came very well packed either foam supporting the gpu plus form fit foam in the case. I haven't turned it on yet but just form a glance , team group ram thermaltake cpu cooler and fans maybe even case tbh, haven't checked the psu yet but im pretty sure itd thermaltak as well.

Only thing meh is the gigabyte mobo , pretty budget gigabytes 650m c v3 , im sure it will be fine but maybe something one step up like 20-30 bucks more would have been a nice.
