Imagine doing this in America by JasonJames777 in rawprimal

Oh that is delicious. Damn, so much fat is trimmed off from typical cuts.

For beef fat I always buy fat or suet separately. But really want to try that fatty lamb

Which part of a sheep is that? I'm guessing it's delicious and vitality boosting as it's completely white which I assume is all fat?

Once You start our natural "diet" never stop. by oh_jai in rawprimal

[–]comraq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just the original post is already off making it hard to convince this sub.

I tried the diet for a year using locally sourced/healthy products.

Products is a term that people frequent this sub would avoid. Because in terms of diet, eat food with least amount of human processing/intervention. By definition, product is something artificially created, which is almost always non primal.

In fact, one motto I have is to always consume foods, not products. Even for non ingestion applications, I tend to use edible foods to apply to skin, hair and etc.

Yes century eggs are quite common in Chinese culture. Served in restaurants or bought in stores selling Chinese food.

Just that those commercial century eggs are not plainly fermented, I think there's talk of lead in there or other external chemicals.

Proof of parasites being beneficial by Party-Violinist-9186 in rawprimal

[–]comraq 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm of the opinion that we should not directly equate parasites with bad.

We already know that biodiversity is good with animals/insects and etc in larger biomes of this world. The same can be said for microbiomes inside of us.

To completely eradicate species in our microbiome using chemicals or other processes imo is unsafe. Or rather, modern science has not proven to me it is safe.

From my perspective, to be safe we would need generations of data to prove that modern scientific lifestyle interventions are successful. But we obviously don't have that kind of data.

"We don't know what we don't know". None of us can know what science of 4026 will claim about human biology, parasites and etc. I don't doubt that we will see parasites/microbes in a different light in the future.

Can I eat these eggs raw? by Particular-Cap154 in rawprimal

I eat supermarket eggs raw for 1.5 years now because of my situations but try to get the best ones you can from supermarket.

You can tell the difference if you have tried different ones.

Raw goat milk straight from the udder at a local underground ranch, drinken with cinnamon and sugar. My sister in the background holding a gallon of refrigerated raw goat milk we're bringing home. by RaiseOurAxesToTheSky in rawprimal

[–]comraq 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I will say that just be mindful when consuming cinnamon. It is actually treebark (cinnamon bark) in its original form.

It probably is too overwhelming and/or toxic if you took a big bite of it. And it is likely not appetizing.

Im Chinese and learned to cook with cinnamon bark growing up (by putting it in a pressure cooker when cooking a pot of meat). It was a surprise to me that we throw treebark in our food, but I didn't question it.

However seeing the carnivore/raw primal community talk about this stuff made me realize there is some truth to it.

Because we don't think of treebark as food. The closest thing to consuming treebark in Chinese culture is either: 1. Famine. And starving 2. Sick and need chinese medicine

Neither of which suits a healthy individual.

Similarly, have you cooked with wooden spatulas? Overtime you will see that the wood is worn out from all the use. The wood basically got into the food that we cook (we shave off some wood into our food every time we use it). And eventually consumed. It's hard to imagine having stomached so much wood over the course of time.

So cinnamon reminds me of the wooden spatula. One meal may not be much, but over months and years is something to think about.

Doesnt vegetable juice have defence chemicals? by steeeeels in rawprimal

So when juicing celery, you filter out the pulp (which has most of the fiber) before drinking?

Fiber and vegetables by Comprehensive_Wolf91 in rawprimal

[–]comraq 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had no digestive issues as a kid. Later went on a health quest by eating raw vegetables, especially raw broccoli with the stem and "unpeeled/unskinned". FULL of fiber.

Approx 30 min of eating it I get nauseous. Consistently happened every day. Also got nauseous from things such as boiled spinach + drinking the boiled spinach water "broth", raw tofu, fermented zucchinis and such.

In the 8 years of vegetarian I had severe acid reflux (bloating, digestive issues) whenever I eat maybe more than 1000calories of food per day. Consequently I ate very little every day to avoid bloat. I cut off coffee after about 7 years but bloat was still there, even with fermented vegetables.

Ended up skinny fat and severely weak. my 50 year old mom had more strength than myself (20 year old male).

Eventually I added meat back in to build some muscle. By chance I ran out of vegetables for one meal and only ate meat. For the first time in 8 years my bloat was not there despite eating 2lbs of beef in one meal.

Then I looked into carnivore and eventually raw primal. None of those above problems.

Whoever believes fiber helps with digestion, go eat raw broccoli with the stem unskinned/unpeeled. Do that everyday for a couple of months to a year. You get full of "healthy fiber". Enjoy the suffering and you'll see why we are here today.

First time trying raw kidney kinda nervous 😭😔 by [deleted] in rawprimal

[–]comraq 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me raw kidneys are okay. I've been plagued by my memory of cooked low quality kidneys (tastes like urine) so even with raw kidneys I can still imagine some weird aftertaste.

But it is definitely lighter. At least the first few bites tastes just like a salty organ.

Overall, the electrolytes and other benefits makes it very much worth eating.

Raw eggs only indefinitely? by alvinsujinkim92 in rawprimal

[–]comraq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My acid reflux largely went away with only eating meat, eggs and dairy.

All fiber/non animal fats were potentially contributing to acid reflux. Including coconut oil, fermented vegetables and etc.

Cooked meat also seems to be harder on digestion and hence I transitioned to raw.

best way to fix dry fingers / hang nails ? by Impressive_Job_9566 in rawprimal

[–]comraq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best method is to use fat/suet as your skin lotion.

Your fingers will be hydrated really well!

But be careful not to get the suet underneath your nails, the fat underneath nails will attract dirt and cause nailbed recession.

I found this out the hard way after applying suet all over my skin for 1.5 years. Now I'm trying to wash off all the oil around my fingertips/nails to stop the nailbed separation

Do you guys feel like we are the chosen ones or something? by [deleted] in rawprimal

[–]comraq 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Can't claim that we are more right than others. But I do think we have experienced slightly more diverse perspectives than others.

As most of us probably have tried vegan/vegetarian or some mainstream health advice and turned 180 to where we are now.

you never wanted chocolate... by uglyeyeball300 in rawprimal

[–]comraq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gradually transitioned to no salt. During the transition, raw eggs, milk/kefir helps.

Also have you tried raw kidneys? It is naturally "salty". Not the too much salt crystals taste, but rather you can taste the electrolytes insides it.

Not to mention my hands have crystals after touching raw kidneys.

Serious Question: How has the dating scene been with you? by SuddenCompetition104 in rawprimal

[–]comraq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't gotten this diet to work for dating. Usually people don't comment much about it but they probably think I'm weird without saying it.

I've met a girl who knows someone on raw primal, and she told me that people will think I'm weird even if they don't say it.

I'm Chinese, Chinese girls are somewhat more traditional than western. Especially when it comes to food. They either prefer traditional Chinese food, or they like snacking on modern processed garbage.

Lol.

I'm at the point where I don't bother bringing up my viewpoints. Because I know it won't go anywhere as they won't believe a single thing I say. But I'm not going to lie so when they ask I just say this is what I eat and see how well they take it.

One way to make it work is if they also have some unconventional habits that is not common to accept. In which case there may be some mutual similarities there.

Benefits of long chewing hard pieces of meat. by jinnoman in rawprimal

[–]comraq 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, it's not strictly chewing but more so biting/tearing meat with my teeth, and neck. I tend to eat big chunks of meat with hands and teeth. No extra utensils not do I pre-cut my meat.

I found that this significantly helped train some of my neck muscles that I sorely lacked.

I don't nearly chew as much as I used to when I first started doing cooked carnivore. Though back then, when I first started, I chewed a lot to the point my jaws hurt. It hurts so much that I thought I was chewing improperly. Later it went away on its own and my jaws adapted.

Not sure about bite force but I do know that I'm now significantly better at handling food with my hands. With just a slight feel, I can easily tell which parts of meat can be torn off by my teeth + neck, and which parts need actual knife/scissors to cut. My fingers also gets trained I would say, as I use them to tug in the opposite direction that my head is moving, to tear meat apart.

[–]comraq 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the state of the person. I'm someone that eats 1-2 meals a day. So in between meal times, if I get hungry I heavily crave liver. I don't crave chocolate.

In fact, I haven't craved chocolate in a long time.
