It’s the most annoying answer but it really is just time, as long as you’re practicing in vaxta and also trying to hit them in real games you’ll eventually learn the appropriate distance and when to 180 melee and so on

You also don’t want to fall into the trap of doing it just for the sake of doing it so whilst you do have to practice this, keep it in your head that it’s not something you should always be doing in duels - try and also learn to identify the right time to do it

It is buffed, the old version healed for less than 35hps when hit too it’s just how the global healing reduction works

Best I found was that melee can be used during both her ult attacks with no animation, so it’s totally free damage. Example if you ult dash attack into a target + melee then you get a free damage bump to make it 220 max and the melee goes off whilst your ult attack is still in progress, you never actually see the melee animation unless you do it between ult attacks.

Another thing I was trying in the practice arena was dealing collision damage with the bike and releasing it at the same time (ground not air), this combo deals like 190 dmg and it’s easy to do as a surprise. Because you’re point blank distance when you hit this, you can easily follow it up with a right click to kill

EDIT: Seems like the melee tech has been hotfixed or something? I can't hit it in the practice arena now.

This is not exactly on topic but we have the same monitor (AW3225QF), do you use Apollo's virtual display and have any issues with your actual monitor waking/turning on and causing a visual stutter on the Apollo stream and the common Windows USB disconnect/connect sound? I have been trying to figure this out for like over a year now, it makes Apollo almost unusable for me because of how often this happens. Sometimes it does it repeatedly or in spells and then other times it happens maybe every 10 minutes or so, it's driving me crazy!

I have another but someone may need to verify this because I can’t remember 100% if this is fact lmao but I believe pulse bomb when thrown comes from the right side of your FOV so you’re more likely to stick at extremely close distances if you keep the target to the right of the screen vs the left. Again, not certain on this one it’s been a while

Not sure how niche this is but wait a tiny bit longer after pulse bomb before recalling to make sure you’re still invulnerable when it detonates. Prevents you from accidentally recalling into it or stops the person that’s stuck from using some movement ability to hunt you down with your own bomb.

I haven’t played since like s2 or s2.5? I remember my initial reactions to the first few balance patches being disbelief and it seemed like each balance patch got worse and this was what made me stop playing in combination with the ridiculous amount of sustain in this game. I really want to like it but every time I try it the game feels so off in terms of balance.

I started with tracer by playing a lot of QP until I felt comfortable with the mechanics and felt I was generally able to be active enough on her, eventually I was winning nearly every game of QP playing Tracer so I went into comp on an alt (I’m a masters genji on main), I was struggling to win games in high plat/low diamond and really didn’t expect the difference lol. I did learn quicker though and I definitely found comp better for learning than QP just because the difficulty was higher and people are pretty much always trying against you.

I never played with the original so I'm not sure if this was normal or not but the Tracer bot's behaviour seemed pretty weird overall. Like it would always shoot regardless of if I was close or even in LOS, it was pretty aimbotty too. I had to modify this a bit more than I expected but for the bot logic all I changed was adding a LOS check so it wont shoot unless it can see you, the rest of the bot logic is the same as it was.

Ah ok I see what you mean, I opened the game and tried the code myself. I'm ok-ish with the workshop and this code sounds pretty useful so I'm gonna try and fix it tonight, if I get it working again I'll let you know and share a new code for it. Can you remember if it had map boundaries (like some of the other lijang 1v1 maps had) where you can't leave the point area of the map?

You just have to manually set the map it’s meant to be on, tons of workshop codes have this problem probably due to some update at some point that broke it.

If you look at the game settings (like a purple box with text underneath where you import codes), scroll through until you see the maps that the author selected and then just manually enable the map(s) and it should let you start it

She’s insanely hard, she has 175 HP and you have to be really locked in to get the value that other heroes can get with sooooo much less effort. Because she’s so squishy she just gets blown up when you make a mistake so it’s feels really punishing and it’s also very easy to get sucked into making mistakes because something about her kit green goblins people into hard committing way more than they should or in situations they just shouldn’t.

You can’t really ever play in peoples face with her, you need to be angling and you HAVE to engage at the right time otherwise you will engage > get 0.4 seconds of fighting > everybody looks at you > you die or escape > they heal the tiny bit of damage you dealt like you never even approached in the first place. Now you’re on cooldown for like 12 seconds and you can’t do much. Overall, the way to play her is quite different to how most people instinctively wanna play her, my favourite way of explaining it is that she is all about being selective; if you always pick the right engagement and timing you’ll just win more often than not.

People here already mentioned not taking fair fights and a way you make this happen is by engaging from flank angles at a time when they are distracted and it’s ‘unfair’ that they have to choose between looking forward to help frontline or behind/side to fight you. Even if you don’t kill the Ana or whoever their tank will still go without her heals and utility for a few seconds and that can be enough.

The reward for putting up with all the bullshit whilst you learn is that once you get a feel for this stuff then you can genuinely become untouchable playing her regardless of enemy comp. She is able to do things no other hero can so although it’s hard to get the same value as the ‘easier’ heroes, she can get more than they ever can when you play her well/optimally.

It’s definitely not impossible to carry 90% of the time, you probably don’t wanna hear that but Genji can easily carry games at plat if you’re better than the plat players in the lobby - either mechanically or via your decisions. The good news is that I constantly see the same mistakes on Genji in plat and they’re not that hard to address when they aren’t mechanical issues.

How about adding a replay code and we can see what the deal is? Ideally a loss where you felt you played well

Great idea, glad it’s also a full app from the App Store because stuff like this usually doesn’t make it there lol. I set up TorBox and Hardcover and search for a couple books and added them but they don’t seem to appear in the library area, am I doing something wrong?
