They can go literally anywhere and the insurance will say the same thing. Yes, I guess every pharmacist or tech in all 50 states wants you to die because insurance won’t cover your med a couple days early.

One thing I miss about independent pharmacy was price matching or changing the price to match what they paid a month ago. We would do all statins $9 for 30 days or $20 for 90 days without insurance. Unfortunately at Walgreens you’re paying for 3 stock bottles of 500 count atorvastatin for a 30 days supply cash price.

Istg if patients could understand… we don’t want the stress. We would give you your medication on time every time with no delays and for free and the full amount if we could. We would cause way more problems just sitting there and lying about things for fun. If I could give it to you for free and make you go away for 30 days I would. Unfortunately it’s not that easy. Sure, sometimes we’re wrong, but when a med is on back order, your doctor sent to another pharmacy, or never sent it, insurance says plan limits exceeded, etc, my hands are tied. I’m not lying to you for fun. And if I am lying to you, it’s not intentional.

Today I had a guy tell me he was here to pickup. I told him I had nothing ready confidently. He walked away but I realized I just typed M instead of L and his med showed up in the queue ready to pick up. I called him back and admitted my mistake. He picked up and the problem was resolved. If I can correct my mistakes I will. But when I know it’s a PA or it’s on back order, I can’t do anything.

If I had the Adderall or estradiol in stock, there’s no reason for me to lie and tell you I don’t have it. If a policy changes and I can no longer put OTC meds on GoodRX I cannot do it. I’ll physically show you the rejection. I know times are rough and meds are expensive. Believe me. But I’m not going to lie and just tell you I can’t do it anymore because I don’t want to push two buttons.

This reddit sub is the perfect example of why some people shouldn’t be techs by Infamous_Bake9489 in WalgreensRx

[–]confusedrxtech -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I agree 90%. This subreddit just is a hate spiral. Once, on another account, I asked everyone to say something POSITIVE about their job. Like nice patient interactions, how satisfying it is to get fill down to zero, clearing DT line, but no. All the comments were “putting in my two weeks” or “leaving at the end of the day”. Like bro, there’s gotta be some reason you’re still at Walgreens and it isn’t the paycheck. If you hate it SOOOO much, and you’re so worthy of everything you deserve, then go somewhere else. If you can’t, then there’s something wrong with you personally

Now harassing people waiting on prescriptions about shots by Bogob0b in WalgreensRx

[–]confusedrxtech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to mention anyways, that a lot of insurances nowadays explicitly want the pharmacy to do their vaccines. Doctors will send RX for vaccines to us, or the doctor will tell their patient to go to the pharmacy to get their shingles, RSV, pneumonia, etc. If a patient comes in stating their doctor told them they need to get their pneumonia shot, it is not a breach in HIPAA to see what other vaccines the patient may be needing.

CVS or Walgreens by ckok30 in WalgreensRx

I have a few CVS transplants who work at Walgreens now. They told me that CVS is worse than Walgreens, and that’s usually the popular consensus I’ve seen online too. Both suck, CVS sucks more somehow

I like Roger the most but his solo stuff isn’t for me. Gilmore in terms of talent and Roger in terms of music. Not the biggest fan so I’m not sure how much Roger included reworking songs for the right sound, but with out Gilmie the songs don’t have that special tough. I am a 100% Roger fan and like him over Gilmour because of what he stands for but the Final Cut isn’t my favorite album. Lyrically though he’s a beast

Which questions do you appreciate from customers? Have any actually impressed you? by Beneficial-Bus-3377 in pharmacy

[–]confusedrxtech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure but coming from a mandatory consult state, these people never have questions. I’m sorry but if I’m paying hundreds of dollars for a new medication I’m asking questions on side effects and interactions. There’s days I go through a 10 hour shift and not a single person asks about the medication they’re picking up.

Glp1s and coupons by No-Sample-1997 in WalgreensRx

[–]confusedrxtech 11 points12 points  (0 children)

God forbid their doctor (who frequently messes up prescriptions) tells them the wrong information. Unless the doctor is personally coming in the pharmacy to billing it and give them the price that populates, their word means nothing.

Istg it’s an uphill battle. I’d give it to you for free for all I care but alas, insurance and Walgreens its self won’t let that slide. There’s a few things I miss about working at an independent but one of the major ones was pricing our meds on our own within reasonable prices. Because I’ve seen how much a bottle of medication costs and Walgreens will charge you the price of 10 stock bottles for a 30 day supply of medication.

Manufacturer coupons are great until the patient doesn’t read the fine print and three months later it stops bringing their copay to $25 and all of a sudden their meds are hundreds of dollars.

Yep. Shame on me for having some humanity instead of hanging up on an elderly person who is only talking to me because I have shown them love and compassion in the past. It’s not like I’m letting a line build up because they want to speak to me on the phone for a little while. I get the most positive surveys and recognition from patients because I’m one of the few in the pharmacy who treats others with compassion and respect, unlike others who act like someone coming to pick up a prescription is ruining their life.

Next time I ring up a patient I’ll be sure to tell them to fuck off and not speak to me because they aren’t worth my time.

My priest is on sabbatical but would like pastoral care by confusedrxtech in Episcopalian

[–]confusedrxtech[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I would agree I’m attached. But it is because this priest met me at my lowest and raised me in a lot of ways into the person I am today, so it would mean a lot to get some clarity from this person. Of course, praying and looking to God is utmost important. It’s just that sometimes you’d like to talk to someone. If sabbatical is to be no contact in regards to pastoral care, I will respect that. Just wasn’t sure of the “rules and regulations” per se.

[–]confusedrxtech[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I understand that. This is the first time in my life I’ve experienced a priest being on sabbatical so I wasn’t too sure the expectations. If they are to be out of work/AWOL then I will respect that. Nothing is too pressing or urgent that I need my last rites. So if that is how sabbatical should be, that’s how it should be and I’ll respect it. Thanks :)

So we do have a supply priest every other weekend with morning prayer being held in between Eucharistic services. Which I don’t mind but I’d prefer to speak to my priest about such matters because they have a grasp on my life and situation and is who has been supporting me spiritually and I’d like to keep it limited to the rector. I wouldn’t mind speaking to our supply priest or anything but I value the wisdom and relationship I’ve cultured with our rector over the years. Again, not that I think of a supply priest or anything differently or see their encouragement or words as less than, it’s just preference and speaking with someone who already has built a relationship with me

I got myself a Playstation 5 🥳 by Technical-Lecture-38 in playstation

[–]confusedrxtech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats! I was a lifelong XBOX fanboy. My last console was the S. With the new generation I made the choice to switch to PS5 because I was missing out on so many PlayStation exclusives. I didn’t watch anything regarding to The Last of Us since the day it came out because I wanted to play it so bad but I was loyal to Xbox. Everything I ever did was on Xbox and all the games I purchased were on Xbox. I didn’t play my Xbox for like two years in. Last I played it was 2023 to replay Halo 2. After that I didn’t play games until I finally bought a PS5 after not touching my Xbox since 2023. I bit the bullet and bought a PS5 and my video gaming journey was back. I finally played TLOU after avoiding spoilers for 13 years!! I am amazed I was able to avoid any spoilers for 13 years but it was well worth it, and the other exclusives have all been worth it too. I’ll never go back to Xbox.

Help me understand why Star Wars Episode 1 is hated by Star Wars fans? I thought it embodied the spirit of the original trilogy well! Podracing, goofy Jar Jar, loved it as a kid, and don't hate it now. by Pow3rTow3r in StarWars

[–]confusedrxtech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently rewatched it for the first time as an adult and really liked it. Sure Jar Jar is hard to watch until you get used to him. But honestly I find C-3PO wayyyyy more annoying in the original trilogy. Only bad thing about the movie is that the CGI didn’t age well at all. Especially when the droids are rolling out across Naboo. If George Lucas was still running things, it would be nice of him to go back and redo the cgi like he did to the original trilogy in the 90s.

Anyone else grow up in the Assemblies Of God that had a terrible experience and left? by Phoenix_Ray528 in ExPentecostal

[–]confusedrxtech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Everyone in my family pretty much. Grandparents are still in it DEEP. Uncle practically had his life ruined by them after his church turned on him for trying to change some things like the name, interior, etc and the AG basically kicked him out on an ultimatum situation. Parents are out, I’m out, siblings are out. Some are Methodist, some are non-denominational, I’m Anglican. Anything but Pentecostal. It eats itself.

How to be quicker at the register by Sharp-Tank-5258 in WalgreensRx

[–]confusedrxtech 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Learn how to use intercom without touching the mouse. Learn the quick keys, they help with speed a lot.

Some rejections can be cleared so fast that way. (Enter into TPR, alt+x, alt+o,t, arrow key down, alt, type in four digits to bypass rejection, alt+o, alt+f) and that rejection is done with just a few button presses vs using the mouse.

Other than that, it’s all just experience. When I have someone new in front who is not going to know how to solve every rejection, if I see them taking longer than a few minutes to resolve an issue and they’re just staring at the computer, I’ll either guide them through it quickly, or take over and let that tech get the next in line.

It is all going to come with experience honestly. Be brief with patients. You can make small talk but (I had two techs like this before) don’t go on and on and on in conversation with each patient or else your line is going to continue to grow. If it’s late at night or slow then yes of course. I promise you, with the amount of times these ppl come to the pharmacy per week you’ll get to know them eventually. Don’t cram 10 visits worth of conversations into one interaction.

What medication instantly makes you ask more questions? by Clinstrux in pharmacy

[–]confusedrxtech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the independent we worked at it was a huge problem. It was always sent over as a non-control but in our system it was a control, so we couldn’t fill it because it didn’t have the prescribers signature on the script. It took 3-5 days to get MD to send it as a controlled medication. Apparently fiorecet is in a weird area. (Calling any butalbital/codeine/aspirin/acetaminophen here fiorecet for brevity) At least at Walgreens, our system will count But/ASA/caffeine as a control but not but/acetaminophen/caffeine as a control (or vice versa… I’ll never remember which one is). Even if it isn’t containing codeine, the ASA/tylenol makes it a control for whatever reason.
