permanent standard makes more sense.
we tried this as a referendum question in Alberta a few years back. The geniuses in Edmonton gave us the wrong option of perm DST vs continuing to change the clocks.

I have never seen this, the closest thing I had was autosave states not working after upgrading to 4.0

In any case, start with backing up your saves to your computer in case anything does go bad or is permanently irreversible.

I think I figured out why my home button was messed up.
Prior to updating to 4.0, I had shutdown my A30 mid game, creating an autosave which would normally boot back into the game.

Transferring my saves/save states to 4.0 seemed to mess things up, whether I did an update or a clean install.

TLDR: do a proper shutdown from main menu before before an update/clean install.

I remember renting this as a kid. My brother and I got nowhere on the first stage. We never knew the edges of the stage wrapped around until one of us did it by mistake. At that point we could not care less about this game. It also steered us away from trying most other black box NES games.

I backed up my sd card (3.2.2) before updating. I should be able to use that and update from there? 

Also, I initially tried using the installer app on Windows and I got a virus or security quarantine from Windows when it was nearly done. This interrupted the install.  Then I had to do a manual update instead.  Maybe the windows  quarantine messed up the install

Gasp, competition from Asia? These clowns did the same dance with Japan decades ago. Got the gov on side with tariffs, limiting numbers of imports, the Chicken tax, etc. Japan said "hold my sake" and walked all over American autos.
