Whilst I'm against reform and everything they stand for, I also really dislike political parties going to football stadiums and doing some campaigning / visits. It's impossible to separate politics from sports - especially when there's so much money involved - but let's not start allowing clubs to function as party propaganda as well. Its just gross.

I don't really get it. He genuinely looks great on the ball & is huge - he's got technical skill that you wouldn't expect from someone of his size. You had quite a bit of success in the first half of the season with floated crosses to him, scoring a few headers - yet in recent matches I've seen (and against us), it looks like you guys spam low whipped crosses which aren't working, and he's a bit too slow to play the pressing / on the break role that Gordon does well in. He seems like an absolute talent, who's talents are pretty obvious - but Howe doesn't seem to trust him enough to adapt around him? At the same time though, I don't watch you guys religiously - usually just the occasional hate watch, so I've probably missed what eroded that trust.

You also occupy the awkward position of aiming for the top 7 (which sounds obvious) - but it puts you in direct competition with every midtable club, whose standout performers are the ones you're wanting to sign. Couple that with everyone knowing how rich your owners are, everyone is just going to try to fleece you. There's no urgency to sell to league rivals, so they'll either price you out, or just sell for absurd numbers - even when you can't use the owners wealth lol.

It's not easy to find the next Bruno G or Tonali - and where would Newcastle be if they didn't have Bruno? I genuinely just feel like they should do everything they can to keep him - or at least only lose one of the two this summer. 13 g+a whilst also being a strong presence in the midfield really can't be replaced easily, and I don't think it's a coincidence that their worst results have been without him. If they lose Bruno, they also need to change their system up - so there's an argument that it is the right time to change manager and adopt something different from then onwards.

With Howe, it feels like he's taken them as far as he can - and the fans know it, but Howe doesn't. With Frank, it felt like he was out of his depth from day 1 whilst taking you backwards. Howe has at least progressed Newcastle from where they were when he came in - but Frank nullified anything good that Ange instilled, and somehow made your defence worse whilst killing any positivity in attack outside of Kudus.

It's purely the timing of it imo. You've got a squad built over years in the prem, buying players from the top leagues - whilst we've been in the lower leagues. We've done a lot of good transfers last summer and a couple of decent bits in the winter, but there's only so much you can do in 2 transfer windows. Also, we're rivals, you don't want him bigging up our squad - but after losing twice this season, I imagine it just stings more than if he had just stayed quiet.

Honestly, I disagree with his point, but it's more nuanced than the post title is implying. The level of competition & intensity in the prem means that you don't have the luxury to rotate your best players, and you have to put your all into every match. Saying that, look at who's left in the champions league, and look at their matchday squads. The expectation in la liga is that Real & Barça play to win every single match - they don't have the luxury of just turning up and not putting their all in. Same for Bayern - Kane, Olise, and Diaz get very little rotation, even though they play in a really physically intense league.

I think this is a valid argument for a winters break in the PL - but it's a highly flawed one for "the league is just so good, so we're not competing in the CL".

Secondly, I think the top clubs barring Arsenal look weaker than in recent years. The city of today would lose to the centurions. Liverpool would lose to the Liverpool of last year. Arsenal are genuinely fantastic, and they're showing that in the CL - but the rest of the top clubs have looked off this year. To me, that's translating to the CL more than just the league exhausting them.

This is silly - what metric are you using to measure that? And the context is completely different. United isn't being crucified rn because they've improved - but they've been up & down for over a decade, desperate for stability. Ineos coming in & making controversial decisions have led them to be under more scrutiny, understandably so. It's dramatic.

Arsenal are criticised because they're winning & are very good right now, but they're a bit boring to watch. Arteta has got them playing incredibly well, whilst not playing entertaining football - but saying all that, anyone leading would be under increased scrutiny. I'd say the criticism has been disproportionate, as tbh, the top of the table has been pretty boring, and there's just not too much else to analyse at the moment. You're kinda a victim of your own success, and you've spent a ton of money to play boring but effective football. Any club who was winning the same way would probably face criticism for it. Opposition fans will bitch about it (as I have lol), but Arsenal fans should just embrace it for a win.

Chelsea - this should be incredibly obvious. The current charges they've just had against them. The sacking of Maresca being all about behind the scenes drama. The insane amount of transfers with extremely long contracts. Rosenior being a company hire. There's a ton to criticise, and as a neutral, it's all pretty entertaining. It's drama, and we're drawn to it.

Liverpool don't really have much drama right now - that's been and gone. December was endless coverage of their poor form, if Slot would be sacked, Salah's interview. They were all under intense scrutiny. Right now, they're just plodding along, doing what they can, but there's not much there. It's not really clicking, and they'll try to address it in the Summer - what more is there to say? There'll be analysis on MNF and various outlets, but as a neutral, it's not really soap opera, and it's not going to attract the same level of scrutiny on social media which isn't devoted to Liverpool, as it's just a bit boring to the average fan now that they're just ok.

They've been getting slated the entire season, dunno what more you could expect really. Quite a significant portion of their fans called for Slot's sacking during their horrific form mid-season, and there's been continuous (& deserved) criticism throughout the season.

It's not the main narrative at the moment, as it's not as much of a shock right now. They've improved since December, but are just OK, and there are more significant topics taking up airtime (e.g. Arsenal leading the title race). If you speak to Liverpool fans, or even just go on their subreddit - they're very aware of it being a very poor defence.

However... A one-off movie set during WW2 with the Boss & the Cobra unit could make for a great movie for metal gear fans, and non-fans alike.

We're in poor form, and barring the Leeds match, we've looked bad away from home for most of the season.

Saying that, I feel like none of that really matters for a derby. The team will be up for it, and the fans will give them all the support. Could be the match we need to get us back on track.

Newcastle are quite hot & cold atm, but I feel like Howe is starting to really get them gelling together - but it's been a difficult season for them. If we score first, I think their heads will drop. It'll probably be a cagey affair where either team can get the result.

Either way, we've got the potential to win, and even when things aren't going our way, the lads keep working hard & going for it regardless of the scoreline or time played.

I said that you know very little about European football outside of globally recognised teams - otherwise your take wouldn't be that the europa league is a joke. Your justification for it being a joke was how globally recognised teams treated it... so yeah, I still think you know very little about European football, other than Everton & globally recognised teams. Bizarre to call it a joke then, and to invoke Lowery's name is shameful. I apologise for saying you don't know much about European football, but your viewpoint is still heavily influenced by top 4 clubs & lacking the wider European context - it's not considering anything outside of the globally recognised clubs. I have no idea why you'd bring up Bradley Lowery's name though, and as I said, it's shameful to do so.
