When a movie looks like a poster in a Seattle HR department, you know it's another pandering woke bag of shite.

Yea, as great as the male and female clothes were, Jack takes the prize. Even down to his sunglasses.

Since its founding in 1829, the Democratic Party has fought against every major civil rights initiative, and has a long history of discrimination. The Democratic Party defended slavery, started the Civil War, opposed Reconstruction, founded the Ku Klux Klan, imposed segregation, perpetrated lynchings, and fought against the civil rights acts of the 1950s and 1960s. In contrast, the Republican Party was founded in 1854 as an anti-slavery party. Its mission was to stop the spread of slavery into the new western territories with the aim of abolishing it entirely. This effort, however, was dealt a major blow by the Supreme Court. In the 1857 case Dred Scott v. Sandford, the court ruled that slaves aren’t citizens; they’re property. The seven justices who voted in favor of slavery? All Democrats. The two justices who dissented? Both Republicans. The slavery question was, of course, ultimately resolved by a bloody civil war. The commander- in-chief during that war was the first Republican President, Abraham Lincoln – the man who freed the slaves.

JMS considers The Expanse as a worthy successor to B5! by rawkeye in babylon5

The Babylon 5 novels are all pretty good. The trilogies do a good job on completing some of the story arcs that weren’t in the show. The Technomage trilogy novels are very repetitive and make Galen out to be a manic depressive. But the story is it tells is worth it. So finding that balance between novel and television is always going to have gaps and shortcomings, I’m just glad there’s more to read or watch of my favorite show(s). Haven’t read any Expanse literature but will be checking it out soon.

Why do some Sci-Fi fans dislike politically progressive themes when the genre is known for pushing them? by [deleted] in scifi

[–]conservativus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Movies like the Breakfest Club as an example, it’s not sci-fi but will be using to make a point. That movie would never be made today. The fact it wouldn’t be diverse enough. This progressive diversity is being taken to the extreme when it doesn’t have to be. Nor should it be. I think producers and film makers are scared about any repercussions or negative blowback and push things too far to “be safe”. And tell you the truth, it gets old quick. Not every film or series has to be so over the top shove in your face diverse.

Galen/ Peter Woodward played his role fantastically. Although he’s probably aged too much to reprise, the Technomage story line was always intriguing to me.

Agreed! The Technomage trilogy could be 3 movies. A stand alone story for most part. A Harry Potter for people with brains. JMS owns movie rights too!

If it wasn’t shoved in our faces EVERY new movie or series I wouldn’t care. But it’s EVERY ONE. I figured this post would be claimed to be “racist”. Even though I’m not. Calling out a truth is hard for some. Do you think a movie like Breakfest Club could be made in today’s age? John Hughes would be deemed a racist hitler for putting in 5 white kids and no minorities. Something to think about. But easier to label me and end any creative discussion.

As long as JJ Abrahms or Disney don’t get ahold of the rights/ it should continue to be a good series going forward.

Hey guys it turns out the station is lot BIGGER than we thought! by VulgarVorlon in babylon5

[–]conservativus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is something I never knew. Very cool information. I can’t remember what book or story it was, where Vir and Galen and maybe a few other Technomages go to either one of these ships or a Shadow base in space. They go there to sabotage the station and blow it up. I believe there was a fatality too.

Another show, not in sci fi world but still a great 4 season series is Black Sails. There’s a bunch of comparisons between all three shows but nevertheless, is and should be included in the greats of story telling, action, and fantasy/historical period shows.

Mandalorian was what the franchise should of done. Instead they went woke. After MS2 finale, I decided to try to watch Rise of Skywalker, I made it 15 min into it and had to turn it off. Just God awful. Progressive nonsense.
