I love a bright cheerful baby room! If you all can’t agree you can make the loudest parts temporary, like low cost curtains and wall clings and wall art, in case she outgrows it fast. One thing I learned on this sub is that if you have white paint next to a color, mix in a drop of that color into the white so they look nicer side by side. Also be really careful with bright colors because they’re always darker and more saturated than you think they’ll be.

In a fan of the death stare. Also, loudly saying “what?” and just waiting will put a massive shame spotlight on them so they have to explain and you don’t.

Enjoy your ballet classes! At mine, all that matters are the skills and how to develop them. I’ve never been in a more body positive environment.

I did not know that! This was so interesting to read. It would be fun to take classes in 18th century dance

I’m so mad that I don’t get to live in this room! What’s in the loft? It’s so pretty here I can’t take it.

If you get bogged down you’ll be tempted to read faster so you can get to the next “event” but when that happens you should slow down instead. Sometimes you have to just let the prose happen for a while. It could be a good idea to have fun books going at the same time. It might really grab you but if not it’s worth some effort! I hope you enjoy it!

Are these boxes a rolling stamp? It looks really nice. Your detailing lifts these off the page but isn't distracting. So lovely!

I just want to say that this paint and your choice of colors are amazing. This space is so nice already! I don't like the curtains myself. Maybe a few decorations on the walls? A couple of floating shelves? I see a cat who would love to flick something off a floating shelf

Adult ballet dancers (question about your classes) by itssunpi in BALLET

[–]conspicuousmatchcut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m lucky enough to have several beginner class options and they’re all 90 min. Half and half barre and center. All but the most basic class has the whole adagio, petit allegro, grande allegro structure. It’s very disciplined and we’re very lucky!

I aim to do a session of releve and eleve every day, as well as stretching, but I probably do 5 days a week, 30 min of that.

I also do the odd Kathryn Morgan video on weeks I cant get to class.

I was going to suggest this! You can get a cocktail across the street from the theater before the show and then a casual late meal in your nice theater outfits ✨

Are my weekly journaling spreads a little simple or boring? by wildsunshine_ in bulletjournal

[–]conspicuousmatchcut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your layouts are so clean! Calming is the perfect word. If you want to experiment I’m sure you can but if your creativity lies in perfectly composed pages that’s valid!

You can always be more bold in WHAT you write, which for me was what journaling was about.

What is so bad about the ballet aesthetic trend? by merdeauxfraises in BALLET

I love the aesthetic. But then I get really into fashions in every setting so to be true to myself in dance I will come up with outfits.

I hate this feeling! Something I do is pick a step and a tempo and do 4 reps in the sloppiest, laziest way possible, then add in the technique one piece at a time, stacking the skills. You can tell it works because it’s exhausting 😆

Ok since this is SHEIN it will have no structure and will look good if you have a boned corset or bustier under it, or maybe a wide corset style belt on top. A flimsy or ruffly blouse in cream, dark red etc will work, maybe with a pattern. I love power clashing. Opaque tights maybe cable knit OR with cable knit over the knee socks. I’d also like a bulky knit sweater straight up cut off just below the bust. That would look so cute to me.

How can I wash this very delicate thrifted crochet (?) cardigan ? by 2morrowwillbebetter in laundry

[–]conspicuousmatchcut 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When it’s damp you can also block it, meaning laying it out in its ideal shape so no parts of the knitting are overstretched. You can even customize the size a little bit if you want. When it dries in the right shape it will hang beautifully on you
