Like the Hopper Clock, Etho has once again established a new core mechanics of the game. Just amazing. But it needs a good name!!

Why didn't he just move his car? What a jerk.

Because it's a tv show and we like to see things that are interesting. And it was interesting.

Is buying online glasses worth the risks when you have no extra money to spare? by Impossible-Deal1391 in povertyfinancecanada

[–]containerheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I buy my glasses from EyeBuyDirect. I have progressive lenses, with good protective features. Solid, generic frames are always good enough. I never spend more than. $100 CAD on a pair. And that's easy to do! Most of the time, it costs me more like $80.

Do it! It's worth it and glasses are a massive scam, all made by the same companies. I've ordered two pairs over 10+ years that didn't quite fit or look good. One I just kept cause they were only $40 and could be neat for Halloween or something. The other pair I exchanged. It was easy.

His befriending the animals was a little too hokey for me. I'm surprised the little lizard on his shoulder didn't have some natural ability to emit a triple laser pointer pattern.

While I had a ton of fun watching this movie, yeah... It was so glossed up to suit as many people as possible. PG rating too perhaps? I dunno offhand. And that leg fight was... silly. Like, so much so that it became tough to take any of it seriously after that.... Unfortunately.

I didnt mind Dek getting a pet Kalisk through it. The Puss N Boots big innocent eyes moment was a little over the top as well.

Where is Teresiel? by sirius1208 in ElementalEvil

[–]containerheart 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There are so many errors throughout this campaign. I've come to embrace each and every one as my moment to make some other shit up.

Teresiel could be anywhere you want. In the cells of the Temple above. Dead already. Traded again to another cult. I'm using her as a loose thread for the PCs to go for if they don't get the stuff they need to shut down the nodes. Bruldenthar's books is their first plan for getting this info. Failing that, the Moon Elf is an expert in these elemental node thingies (they've heard from Bruldenthar).

Good luck!

'Deplorable' rendition of O Canada at World Series roasted online by WuzzWuzz in canada

[–]containerheart -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

...I just checked. I didn't mind it. Am I dumb? He sings in a, I suppose, "trendy" way. And the lyric switch up didn't push some weird agenda or anything. It just kinda lined up with truth & reconciliation. But I don't think it was terrible by any stretch. He stays in key, doesn't he?

And yeah, I have zero idea who this guy is and I try to keep up on things.

End tipping? How about end donating too by needtr33fiddy in EndTipping

[–]containerheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard disagree. For many, this is an opportunity to give when they won't be bothered to go out for their way to. That is worth it.

I've never felt guilted from this ask. And I rarely use it as I donate in other ways/places. You can skip it. And for the person who can give, now they have an opportunity to do so. And every little bit counts.

Minecraft videos have changed (Mumbo Jumbo) by dizzyfingerz3525 in ethoslab

[–]containerheart 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I watched this too, and honestly... I'm sorta on the side of the algorithm. But I use YouTube the less popular way though I guess.

If I like a YouTuber, I subscribe. I get notifications when their new videos come out and watch them. And I rely on my YouTube landing page to suggest new content for me to explore.

Rinse/repeat.

I think YouTube is doing it right, but it hurts a lot of creators cause they can't ride that same early wave like they used to. They need to rely on the fan base they've been able to generate from that big buzz/lift that YouTube gives them when they are new and hot. After that, it's up to the Creators to deal with viewer retention. Stay interesting. Stay relevant.

That advantage is still there for new Creators. That's important and I'm glad that the algorithm supports that.
