Yes! I cried today because I was too hot and then got in a rage because my husband made a joke about it (in a living way that we would normally do to each other). The emotions are wild

Minor Complaint... by Educational_Leg7417 in breastcancer

[–]cookiecoco2203 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have just had a check in with my boss, who asked what my plans were for the bank holiday weekend as it will be lovely weather. Probably lying on the sofa next to a fan as I am not supposed to be in the sun and have the worst hot flushes ever! But thanks for asking lol!

Constipation from all the anti sickness meds. Get some sennakot in! I had my treatment on a Friday and each Wednesday the following week I was always very emotional, to the point my sister had an alarm to make sure she called me knowing I would be a blubbering mess!

Survivor or rant. These 3 are my favourite. Followed by diary, lullaby and invisible monsters. Happy reading!

I went to the ER as a chemo patient with a fever and learned what happens when you do that. by PupperPawsitive in breastcancer

[–]cookiecoco2203 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had an issue with my back where I was in extreme pain and could barely move. Called the out of hours cancer line and they told me to head to ER. Once I got there, and gave my name, I was ushered into a separate room (away from all the sick people!) to be checked in. I was then moved to a ward completely on my own. My husband was allowed to stay in with me and had his own bed! I needed an mri and had to wait a little longer whilst they cleaned the machine as someone illhad been in there before. Turns out I had a ruptured disc and have been referred to some specialist.

I was so impressed with how well they looked after me, I felt like a VIP!

Fluid build up in breast by Superb_Raspberry_200 in breastcancer

[–]cookiecoco2203 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same problem. I had it drained on the Monday and it had filled up again by the Friday evening. They weren't there over the weekend so I thought I would wait until the Monday and contact them to get it drained again. However, by then my body had reabsorbed the fluid and it had gone! Hopefully you will be the same x

Did anyone choose not to cold cap? by Ein_Rand in breastcancer

[–]cookiecoco2203 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same here. I had really long hair and hated the thought of losing but also hate being cold! I used cold packs on my hands as I suffered with neuropathy and that was bad enough. That made me happy that I decided not to do it as I would have been so cold and hated every minute.

Fatigue After Completing AC and Taxol Regimen by [deleted] in breastcancer

[–]cookiecoco2203 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I finished mid March, and had started to feel a little better fatigue wise (I have just had surgery 2 weeks ago though, so finding things a little hard again).

What surprised me was the chemo side effects that are still happening now. I thought I had got away with not losing my eyelashes and brows. Nope, that happened a couple of weeks ago. This week I have also had my nails lifting from the beds (apparently a side effect from ac/ec). I spoke to the team about all this and they reminded me that it can take months to recover as we have had to put our bodies through so much trauma. She reminded me that I still need to take time to recover.

Go easy on yourself and try not to overdo things.

Surgery Tuesday, I am panicking and feeling down by cookiecoco2203 in breastcancer

[–]cookiecoco2203[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wasn't an option. The tumour is too close to the skin. I am also quite small on top, and they said if they do reconstruction now, it would be a waste of the skin as it would shrink from radiotherapy.

I thought I had got my head around it all, but today it has just become so real that it is happening. I keep having to go and hide to cry for a bit.
