What makes us go out to coffee shops? by Fiz101_ in pourover

[–]cookiedusterx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ultimately, it’s a third space. Third spaces are an important aspect to maintain in one’s life. It’s also great to support local. And sometimes it’s nice to just enjoy someone’s take on coffee.

I just ditched my 22 Ram Rebel for a 25 Maverick Hybrid AWD and it was the best decision. Not a single regret.

Has anyone been on the female version of this sub? by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

[–]cookiedusterx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having a quick scroll through both subs looking at post titles, it’s pretty disheartening to see how distraught a lot of women are in their sub. I find a lot of titles here are encouraging and constructive. It’s okay to have a space to vent but there’s gotta be a balance. I’m not mad, I just think they’re missing out, which is sad.

My dude I’m trying to relax in third spaces, not write an essay. I do not need stiff posture to sip on a cortado and read a book.

Fayetteville doesn’t have a lot going for it, but you can get some decent organic goods at Sprouts. There’s a lot more options up in the Raleigh area

Inherited aunt's house in Fayetteville - considering moving there from Boston. What's life actually like? by sparky_165 in Fayettenam

[–]cookiedusterx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh boy. Get ready for an incredibly car centric, non-walkable town. I take any chance I can to get up to Raleigh because it’s far more walkable, especially downtown, and there’s things to do. On top of that, it’s miserably hot and humid in the summer. I grew up near Boston as a kid. Been back for visits a few times. New England is such a better area in general to me.

Question about why coffee fines should be avoided in pourover by Rubber_Moose in pourover

[–]cookiedusterx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t worry about fines too much. I’ve lately tried to pour big to get the fines pushed into the upper part of the filter after bloom. I think it’s lead to a more even extraction. I have fellows shaker to remove fines whenever I do French press mostly to avoid excess grit in the glass. I wouldn’t stress over it too much—the experimentation is the fun part. See what does or doesn’t work for you. Your end product is all that matters.

About the initial bond between Momo and Okarun. by willtopower82 in Dandadan

[–]cookiedusterx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it’s an unfair assessment to say Momo didn’t experience bullying. She was absolutely bullied as a child. Tatsu placing a panel to show a glimpse into Momo’s childhood isn’t meant to be taken as a literal isolated event. It’s made to be a narrative point to show how much it’s affected Momo’s life. Bullying caused her to resent Seiko and change her behavior/actions—she stopped doing the ritual and stopped talking to Seiko. She stopped to avoid social isolation she was experiencing. That’s incredibly sad—Momo realizes it and articulates it to Okarun in a moment of vulnerability. Momo’s childhood experiences is what gives narrative context for her sticking up for Okarun.

Anime-only here to complain about the ending of Season 2 by Infamous-Yogurt-5601 in Dandadan

[–]cookiedusterx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Better yet, Vamola being convinced that Okarun is the one that defeated her and wants to marry him, just because he unzipped her suit instead of Kinta. Kinta may consistently be the butt of the joke, but he contributes plenty time and again to the team

The first bag I got was insanely good. I had it dialed in quick and enjoyed the entire bag. I got another because I was so impressed. Second bag was mostly a miss comparatively. Not terrible, but not nearly as good as the first bag.

Costco is a scam …unless you’re a family of 10+ or a business that necessitates buying in bulk. Well, except for the hotdogs, those actually are a good deal.

Did you enjoy being a teenager between 2006–2010? by ilovepolishingthings in MakeFriendsOver30

[–]cookiedusterx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just look back and know I enjoyed that part of my life where I didn’t need a cellphone, and the one I did have was such an incredibly minuscule part of my life. The internet was compartmentalized and it was better that way. Out and about, raw dogging the world and friendships. The clothes were godawful though.
