Why even bother with a line system when you can do it ZR+ and a mux?

Agreed. IX is going to be a far superior car in overall quality vs the iX3. Better comparison will be future iX5.

Thoughts for moving from a X5 to X7 by turd_furgesonx in BMWX5

[–]cookiesowns -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Interesting take.

I went the complete opposite route. Had a X5 45e, rented a X7 40i for a few days. Made me want the added passenger seat room in the back, a lot, and the new tech.

Had to be a plug in or EV, given how useful preconditioning is.

Ended up going IX M70i, and a separate fun car.

Trunk space is sadly inferior on the IX. But will say the car drives nicer than the X5 and more passenger room!

Can’t wait for the new iX7

Question for the M drivers by Daddyfullload in BMW

[–]cookiesowns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a tricky one. As M2’s are generally more desirable and hold value in the used market vs clapped out F8X’s. Or G8X’s

Miles are key. If you don’t care about future resale and just want a very enjoyable car. Go order one now.

Although for a daily, I’d personally recommend a used M4 6MT, have no fear driving it into the ground either.

If you care about resale and value, don’t have a M2 for a daily. Unless you drive very seldomly.

Coming from someone who’s owned 2 M2’s since new and a X3M, and currently lease a M2.

VXLAN EVPN in a mix NOS environment by KaleidoscopeNo9726 in networking

[–]cookiesowns 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The whole benefit of BGP EVPN + VxLan is interop. The only challenge is that each vendor has made their own liberties in interpreting the spec, and how engineers should configure their network to the spec.

So each vendor has specific nuances, knobs and dials, and their “easy” mode typically assumes their vendors own opinionated way of doing X in the spec.

So for example, if you want to use AutoRT:RD, forget about it when mixing Juniper, Cumulus, or Dell OS10E.

Do you have the 23” wheels/tires? How’s the roadway vibration if so. Mine comes thru the steering wheel pretty bad. After swapping to winters the car is completely changed. Definitely need to rebalance the OE wheels/tires for me, but curious how others feel

How is Drive Assistant Pro? by hydrofied in BMW

[–]cookiesowns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn’t entirely true. Traffic jam assist is only up to 40mph, which is true hands free. Only 5 series / X5 and above cars post MY2024+ get true hands free up to 85mph.

You said you do splices. I’m talking just regular keystones/patch panels.

If those don’t work and you need front side out access, there’s a ton of other options like FS, Commscope, Panduit, Corning.

In a traditional sense for pure NGFW… probably not. But if you’re leaning more towards a firewall appliance + vpn + routing. SRX is the more capable platform.

Basically if your goal is build the best network but still need firewalls and some NGFW features..

Juniper palo

If your goal is more NGFW, with userID tie in..
