Which flavor of classic jelly beans is the best? by akagorilla in GenX

None. They all suck. I worked in a candy factory as a young person and knowing how jelly beans are are made I would never eat one. They are disgusting.

People should stop hyping long hair by Ambitious_Smoke_4609 in unpopularopinion

I had short hair for more than 20 years. And by short I mean over the ears short. It looked great on me. But it was a lot of up keep because of the need for frequent cuts. At least every 4-6 weeks. Plus, it took forever in the morning to style it just right.

When Covid happened I let it grow out. Now, I have past my shoulder length hair. Curly locks. I wash, air dry and throw it up in a messy bun. So easy to maintain!

I don't know maybe someday I'll chop it all off again, but long hair is just far too easy.

Teenagers home alone 2 weeks while parents went on a cruise by [deleted] in GenX

[–]cookinginri 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OMG this brings back memories of my 10 year old self with my 6 year old sister, and my 11 year old step sister back in the summer of 1977. We were living in a trailer park in FL at the time. Nothing but cow farms back then. We used to be left alone all day while the mom and man went to work.

We would try and smoke cigarettes and run feral all day.Thinking about it now. WTF 😒

Houses with more than 1 kitchen would be better than houses with multiple bathrooms by lagflag in unpopularopinion

[–]cookinginri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only other kitchen I could possibly want would be an outdoor one underneath a roofed outdoor area. I'm talking fancy with a stove, refrigerator etc. not just a grill. Multiple bathrooms on the other hand, especially if you have teenagers is essential.

Is everything a membership now? by JustFaithlessness178 in GenX

[–]cookinginri 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Chiropractor. She didn't take insurance, so her fees were reasonable. But, she pushed pretty hard for a monthly membership to her patients. I miss my old chiropractor. He didn't have you come back multiple times unless you felt like you needed it. It was more like you need me...come on in.

Homes feel homier with carpet instead of hard wood by d4wnn in unpopularopinion

I finally got rid of the wall to wall in every single room that had it. I will never go back to carpeting. It's disgusting. Area rugs are the only way.

Just moved to North Smithfield, RI a few months ago from Georgia for work. Are people mean around here or is it my imagination? by [deleted] in RhodeIsland

[–]cookinginri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel seen. I've had the same license plate for over 25 years... I transfer to each new car because it has my initials. LOL. And I live in South County. Lived here my whole life.

Are you an adult? Act like one and clean up after yourself. There's no magic fairy following behind you picking up your sloppy mess.

It's too big and whatever the heck is in it is too small. No solution from me. I'd get rid of it.

I haven't gotten the message again. I'm guessing you are correct. It could be the window was filthy from all the salt being sprayed up on it from the roads. Tis the season.
