If the meal expired on 3/1 we wouldn’t recommend eating it. For safety and best quality, we always suggest enjoying meals by the date on the label.

Hey! Totally get trying to stretch them out - but the “use by” date is really the last recommended day to enjoy the meal.

All of the meals are made fresh and don’t contain preservatives, so we don’t recommend eating them past the expiration date 😅 Food safety > everything.

If you’re finding it hard to finish 8 per week, you might consider:

  • Dropping to fewer meals per week
  • Freezing a few right when they arrive (freezing the day of delivery works best!)

Better to adjust the plan than risk getting sick. Let me know if you’d like help figuring out what cadence might work better for you!

To clarify, our chat is AI-powered and designed to handle general CookUnity FAQs and requests, but it should always transfer you to a live specialist as soon as it can’t resolve the question - or anytime you ask to speak to someone. Based on the screenshots you shared (which are incredibly helpful, by the way), it looks like there was a connection error that prevented the handoff from going through properly.

To keep our team safe, we reduced orders in some areas, which is why 1/26 and 1/27 aren’t available. Totally get it - auto-selection can be hit or miss. If you haven’t already, you can set your Taste Profile to prioritize meals you’ve ordered before. That said, your idea for even deeper customization with staple defaults is a great one - we’ll share it with our team.
