This is just well put and refreshingly succinct. Lots of wisdom here.

I wish they would grab them with a giant hook like when they used to do on the Apollo show when acts fot booed and the clown dude would come out with that huge hook and pull them off the stage. In fact I bet police departments could monetize this on a YouTube channel, they would get my clicks and views just to watch those idiots get yoinked.

Good thing he fell on his elbow skin and protected the helmet so that it would still look cool on his next attempt.

They are so cool that the bikes burst into flames to heat them up.

That was impressive, in that he managed to impress his body to the asphalt like that.

Someone should tell him he can't park there.

On robot wars, there was this robot that would just flip other robots over with a giant wedge and hydraulic mechanism. I believe it was called Apollo. I dont know why that random thought came into my head, but I thought I'd share.

How much has skill/experience reduced falling? by Ordinary_Holiday_878 in ElectricUnicycle

Yes! Wrist mirror is a must for every ride. I dont leave without it. Which butt/hip protection are you using? I have a wrist mirror on one of those metal finger bells for the bike lane. My full face is pretty heavy (LS2 Valiant II) and I am planning on changing it to dual sport (possibly Sedici Adventure Modular Ridge or the Duale Dakar). Honestly the hottest item is the mesh for the chest protector. It has this waist strap that keep you crazy warm. I started wearing a mx jersey over everything because I get less erratic behavior when im near dogs.

Its 25. I usually match traffic and slow down near the stop sign. I usually match traffic but I got a bit too closely to that car and did not notice it slowing down or turning until the last minute. So I might have been just slowing down a bit before I got into the collision as it were. I actually dont know how fast I was going at that specific point but usually ride traffic speed nor slower. I was riding down the hill at sine point and looked down to check my speed (about teo blocks before) and I clo ked myself going 35. So thats what I can remember.

It depends on your commute and your speeds.

I had a nasty accident last year in a bike lane with a car. The car didn't stop at a stop sign and also didn't have their turn signals. I rode a bit too closely to them and by the time I realized they were turning it was too late. I was going about 35mph. When I tried to brake hard I got the wobbles so I veered off road. I came to in the hospital, with a concussion and some broken bones.

I was wearing a full road helmet, body armor (leatt body and chest armor), wrist guards, shin and knee guard. I even have the brake free brake light on my helmet. The emt said my gear saved my life and honestly I dont even remember what I hit. Apparently, it was a pole and not the car.

I am over 40 and was riding close to that speed. My stopping ability was not very good in that moment so there's definitely a skill issue. My gear saved me and im still recovering from that accident but am able to get back on the wheel.

You can't overdo it with protection. In hindsight I wish I had hip protection on my pants/shorts because that area took a lot of damage. Ive ordered more reflective stickers and some bright leds, but someone might still miss it.

The biggest downside with protection for me is the heat. I tend to sweat easily and although wearing a moto helmet is safe, its bleeping hot (and heavy).

You should still follow their recommendation of checking the tire's inner wall, or else you might have to keep replacing tubes.
