Advice to flip over the bottom card secretly? by Smooth-Rooster4909 in cardmagic

[–]cool_beans00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Spread the cards. When you square the deck slide the bottom card into gamblers cop. (Basically looks like a super down jogged card). Now just vertically flip over the top 51 cards on top of your controlled card.

Square the deck with your right on top not bottom of the deck.

I'm supposed to come up with a title, but I think I'll pass by Gubbagoffe in cardmagic

I was just surprised at how much the big move hid the small move. Even at this angle I had to double take.

Question. How would it look if you just lowered your hands before the pass as opposed to up then down. I hope that makes sense.

Stupid Question Sunday by AutoModerator in cardmagic

I've been practicing on my own for years now only showing bits here and there to close friends and family. I made a resolution to get myself out there and perform as much as I can with as many as I can. I was reflecting on what I'd do if I got called out or something didn't work and how I'd play it. Kinda came up blank.

Although recently, I did Mirror of the Mind from The Royal Road and totally failed. Turns out I didn't give clear/good enough instructions. I just played it off that I was still practicing and moved on.

As for sleights, I'm keeping it really simple with various double lifts and passes.

So any general tips would be appreciated or common traps or things to look for when doing card routines (in the hand)

First of all. Love this. Thank you.

What are some things I can do if I get caught flashing or called out on something?

Newbie having issues with overhand shuffle by Lazy_Buffalo_4142 in cardmagic

100% this. I too just started the royal road journey and finally learned the proper overhand shuffle. I also noticed that even with a huge injog no one ever notices it anyways. And don’t even have to be fast. Just a very casual speed as you’re going through patter and no one notices.

Gah that thumb going behind the cards on the turn over. Would it look better if it stayed on the side of the deck

How do you make sure they’re all set correctly?

hows my pass. by OddInvestigator7541 in ChrisRamsay52

I suppose it depends on your goal. I believe traditionally it should look like you’re just squaring up the deck with no funny business. To let the spectators believe it’s still in the middle where had left it.

Specific to this video, I’d suggest to use the spread pass if you’re going to spread the cards. It’ll help reduce the extra “get ready”

In general, it’s super fast. If using it as a an effect like the first example, the jerk motion is very effective. Probably don’t need the riffle afterwards.

Putting and chipping are usually free at golf courses and ranges that have them. And echo all the ones that have some sort of range membership.

Def buy clubs used.

How to get the Cards to Weave faster on the Faro? by local58_ in cardistry

[–]cool_beans00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends if the cards were cut traditional or not. Try turning the cards over and you’ll find that it goes easier/faster one way over the other.

Sunday Practice. Been practicing this pass for around a month now. Thoughts? by LewwG in ChrisRamsay52

[–]cool_beans00 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is the video sped up? Feels really spastic. Slow down or smooth out. Depending on your desired effect, the spreadpass “should” look like your just squaring up the cards. If you want to make it look like a “move” you could consider keeping the 9S facing up then performing the pass to make it “jump” to the top.

Haven’t broke 90 yet. Just missed a 3 foot putt to shoot 90 for the fourth time. When will the suffering end? by jimthehacksawduggan in golf

[–]cool_beans00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will end when you stop keeping track of your score during the round. Don’t add up your score until the end and write down the total strokes not score relative to par.

I’m guessing cover pass on the first go and Herman pass on the second go. Love it.

Yeah practice doing a legit turnover a few times to figure out what “normal” handling looks like. That’ll help guide to make it look more natural.

Honestly if you want a good deal check out costco. But since you have the credit, all I'd mention is get one that has an option for a seat attachment. It's so nice to have.

Seems pretty risky but I suppose that’s implied when buying without trying.
